Description

Welcome, Traveller!

PallasPack is a lightweight magic modpack that provides fantasy elements and many quality of life improvements to Minecraft, but while still preserving vanilla gameplay.

The notable mods this pack includes are Ice and Fire, Quark, Biomes O' Plenty, and Reliquary.

There's a TLDR at the end if you just want a feature overview.

A Full World

Biomes O' Plenty adds a diversity of landscapes and scenery as well as new plants and blocks in both the overworld and the nether. The lands are more alive than ever with hundreds of various dungeons, fortresses, and other structures that are both reminiscent of vanilla but also provide new aesthetics. More mobs, both friendly and hostile, inhabit the world. You'll find mythological creatures, small animals, and even cut mobs from vanilla. There are now more creatures to keep and tame as well as more reasons to fear the oceans and other deep places of the world.

Items and Gear

Baubles are a powerful new kind of item that can be worn separate from your inventory. Some items grant immunity to negative effects, some provide small buffs, some are vanilla items like totems and elytras that can be equipped in bauble slots. Baubles are found very rarely in dungeon chests, so exploration very important. Reliquary adds powerful yet balanced magical items that are crafted from rare mob drops. Many mythological creatures such as dragons drop loot that can be crafted into some of the most powerful gear in the game. Netherite has been given some love and customisability with Upgrade Netherite. Infuse your Netherite armor with the elements to get very specialized abilities suited to your playstyle. And to top it all off, new enchantments have been added as well as tweaks made to vanilla ones.

Dangerous Nights

With the possibility of great power comes also a greater risk of losing it all. Nights and caves are now pitch black unless the moon watches over you. Deadly creatures are much more common the farther you get from spawn, giant zombies, sea serpents, and hunters of the jungle. The more mobs you kill, the higher your difficulty will be, increasing the chance that mobs will be possessed with purple fire. Fear these blighted creatures, as the wrath of the gods flows through their veins. Death now holds more fear for the adventurer, for every time you recover your items from the grave, they will become more worn and broken. (Technical notes, there is no damage or health scaling in this modpack. If your items lose all durability on death, they will not break but be at 0 durability until you repair them. And your difficulty meter will reset on death)

A Place to Call Home

For those who prefer the comforts of home over exploration and monster hunting, there are many additions to husbandry and housekeeping. Many new building blocks like vertical slabs and refined stone and glass add infinite possibilities to base building. Simple Farming expands on the kinds of crops you can grow and meals you can make with them. Gone is the supremacy of cooked beef, now we have lasagna. Those with an educated taste in food will find themselves healthier and more fit than any normal adventurer *wink* *wink.* For fishing enthusiasts, Aquaculture 2 adds many new fish and loot items from fishing.

Redstone Additions

This modpack is focused on magic and the vanilla but there are still a few small additions for fellow redstoners. Most changes are added by quark including iron rods that can break blocks, increased piston push limit, tile entities being pushed, item pipes, chains sticking together, dispensers placing blocks, and much more. There are also levers disguised as torches and blocks that emit redstone signals when a certain player is online. Use these tools well; they are very powerful in the right hands.

Quality Of Life

Some very helpful things like inventory sorting and filtering, better tooltips, a helpful HUD that you can configure with f4, and the famous JEI. Also, you can claim a tamed horse as your own and you can summon it from leagues away.

Also A Genuinely Beautiful Resource Pack, Good Lord My Minecraft Has Never Looked This Good

The Resource Pack New Default+ is included with this modpack and I just want to shout out SeaOfPixels for making Minecraft look so unbelievably pretty. Not only are the textures all great, but there are also variated mob textures that are biome specific like hello that's so cool???? The creepers blend into the surroundings, all the nether mobs are infused with the essence of their biomes, there are even Alex versions of zombies. The sky is pretty, there are specific color mappings for the vanilla biomes, enchanted books have unique textures.

You can even rename weapons and armor and they will have Their own. Custom. Textures. It's hella cool.

You'll need to install optifine to make the neat stuff work and also enable the resource pack in the settings, but I very highly recommend it.

TLDR:

- Biome O' Plenty Adds biomes, blocks, and cherry trees

- Adds structures for dungeons, mineshafts, and such

- More creatures ranging from the tiniest frog you've ever seen to hippogryphs that can be tamed, to giants that will drop kick you without hesitation

- Baubles are acquired through dungeon chests and you have extra slots that can hold necklaces, rings, totems, and elytras

- Reliquary adds powerful magic items crafted from rare mob drops

- Element infused netherite gear that's specialized to specific environments and uses

- Dragons and sea serpents drop scales and bones that make the best armor in the game

- Nights, caves, and the end are really dark, now you'll actually need torches to see

- When you die, your items will be buried in a grave but lose a % of their durability

- If you see a mob with purple fire, you have discovered a blight, and you should be very scared.

- Killing mobs makes your difficulty meter go up and that increases the chances of blights appearing. This difficulty meter resets on death

- Vertical Slabs. 'Nuff said

- More stairs, slabs, and bricks of everything.

- Lots of farming and foodstuffs. Experienced chefs get health boosts

- Aquaculture gives fishermen everything they could ever want.

- A bunch of small additions to redstone that are super powerful for those who know how to use it

- Inventory Sorting at the click of a button

- You will never need to press f3 again, it's all in your HUD

- JEI for all your recipe research needs

- You can call your horse to you at a moments notice

- A freaking awesome texture pack that breathes new life into Minecraft.

OPTIFINE IS VERY STRONGLY RECOMMENDED FOR THIS MODPACK

Not only do you get performance improvements, it unlocks all the cool parts of the resource pack, and optifine lets you hold a light source and light up your immediate area which is a lifesaver in caves and at night. Here's the link to the correct version. Just download it and plop it in your mods folder.

Thank you so much for checking this pack out, I'm still developing so any and all feedback on bugs, balance, and features are welcome.

Farewell!
