Description

Pathology is a modpack that is designed to simulate a highly infectious outbreak of zombies. Pathology is a mod I've been working on for a while to take aspects of infectious zombies media into a mod. Pathology adds a prebuilt vectors of infection and has customization to alter or create viruses. The mod is built specifically for my smaller community event under the same name. Feature tutorial:

Pathology Infection-Pathology has several viruses and forms of infection. Pathology's primary virus the HuskFlu operates similar to the Left 4 Dead Green Flu with elements of 28 days laters infected. This being said the virus is not natural or accidentally made in the lore of this pack. The virus was methodically and maliciously gene altered as a bio weapon because of this it's more nasty and tailored then ever.

Airborne Infection-Airborne infection is the most simple and straight forward form of infection outside of bites. The virus works based on exposure and saturation of the virus meaning players can be infected and operate as a carrier during late exposure. Also the fact that airborne exposure was so minimal means that turning takes drastically longer leading to players needing to screen for infection and even be cautious of players presenting as healthy. Signs of exposure are as follows:Entities and players can be heard weezing or coughing during stages of infection. Particles will also spawn from their mouths while coughing. Certain viruses are harmless while others cause symptoms similar to tuberculosis.

Bloodborne infection-Bloodborne infection is the most straightforward and dangerous of all the infection forms outside of airborne. Bloodborne Exposure due to the quantity of the virus thats able to enter the body has one of the highest infection rates other then bites. Bloodborne exposure occurs through several methods:Vomiting, entity damage and kill damage. Kill and death work like this-If a player is harming or killed a zombies it will explode out blood particles towards the player. If not protected or at distance these particles will infect the player. Vomiting-Players and other infected entities will randomly vomit blood when infected with bloodborne viruses. These spawn particles have a general effective range of 1-3 blocks of distance sometimes more dependent on the variables. 

Decay Disease-Decay Disease or corpse disease work against the agressive or well equipped players. Needing them to constantly clear battlefields or show off extreme caution after dealing with huskflu infected entities. Entities infected with Decay Disease simulate the infectiousness of Huskflu infected persons. If a entity is infected with Decay Disease it will drop a lootable corpse. But this is a snare, Infected persons might have useful equipment on them but as their bodies linger and build up they become a real threat. Corpse disease operates like airborne infection but with one massive important variable. Hazmat suits will not render you fully protected only buy you time. If you allow for the exposure to build up to high you filters will fail and you will be exposed to Decay Disease. 

The best form of prevention is if your looting corpses is to wear PPE. If your looting corpse minimize your exposure with a gas mask or protective equipment and minimize your time near the corpse. If you are having to many corpse appear and your risking exposure do the same but use the flint and steel or flame thrower to dispose of the corpses in mass. 

PPE-Many other zombie outbreak packs do simple things with their loot progresion. Get better protective gear, More bullet resistance,More bite resistance. This is not the case with Pathology. Pathology works seperate from this since pathology is a mix of a pathological surival and a zombie survival we have 2 forms of protective status players will want to seek out.

bite and scratch protection- These items are items that physically protect the player from damage along side giving players a survivability increase from getting infected from being bit. This is classic armors from any other zombie pack. Riot gear, military gear etc. Anything thick enough to keep teeth out. 

Exposure Protection-The second status is "Exposure" or Exposure Resistance. Exposure resistance is the assigned attribute to armor pieces that based on it's logical protection from pathogens. These are protective equipment like gas masks,riot helmets, face masks, etc. However players must work to find a balance between Bite Resistance and Exposure Resistance. A hamat suit is the ultimate level of protection from pathogen based dangers but what is a hazmat suit? A passive inflated piece of rubber? It's bite resistance then would be minimal meaning players will need to work to balance out their kit to protect them for what jobs are needed. 

PS. Bite Resistance only buys you a few changes. You will never be jug levels of protected if you get crited out by a zombies your definitely getting infected.

World Mechanics

The common cold-Players can get unrelated viruses to the husk flu. These can be harmless or kill your just the same only isues being that during late stages you can look similar to more dangerous infections. Quarantine efforts will be definitely needed in any player settlement.

Spoiling-To counter the over abundance and hoarding issue with food we have added a mod to reinforce a simple mechanic. You don't store your food properly or it's not made to last long it expires. Canned foods last longer regular food eventually goes bad. 

Survival- We added water and temp sytems using world sweat. Basic idea so far stock up and purify water, Shelter from the temperature. You will also need to stock pile wood to keep your camps fire going,

Weapon drop off-Guns have bullet drop for vics point blank. If I recall that means both damage drop off and physical bullet drop. 

Longer Days- Day and night lasts longer.

Hordes-will spawn both randomly and appear every so many days. 

Siege-Zombies will scale walls wwz style, breach doorways and group up into attacking groups.

Magazines-Certain weapons will need to be manually loaded with magazines. While others will not need one or use internalized mags. 

Body Health-In this you are very mortal. Falling breaks your legs,injured limbs will prevent you from effectively using melee. First aid has greatly increase the difficulty of the pack. Player will find those who move fast and effectively will be more tailored for this outbreak. 

Utility for prebuild maps and tailored loot-Doing a event?(same here). The mod Braydensurvivez WorldLoot give you the option to saturatethe world with custom loot pools. By running a simple command by a admin in a prebuild or newly generated world. /braydensurvivezloot deploy global "minecraft:chest" {lootpoolname} any container listed will spawn any custom loot pool. For people worried about player exploitation don't worry the system descriminates against player placed chests before the command and after the command. Meaning no infinite loot. If you want to change or remove these loot tables run /braydensurvivezloot reset to reset the loot tables(That haven't spawned in items) or run /braydensurvivezloot remove global "minecraft:chest" {loottablenamehere}. The system also allows to see all active assignments with /braydensurvivezloot deploy global list. 

If anyone wants to work off my frame work to improve it with the knowledge I haven no issues with that. In my own opinion I do not even fully own any particular mod.
