This modpack integrates the Prehistoric Nature mod, plus its dimensions, and the Fossils and Archeology Revival mod in a simple way with only a TreeChopper mod and a few extremely basic support mods added, and a purpose given to Anu. You can use the Prehistoric Nature machines to revive all the Fossils and Archeology creatures and plants (check out those mods' own pages for information on how to use them). Plants which still exist now are set to spawn in the Overworld. We've bundled in an optional texturepack which you might like to play with. If you need Optifine, you need to add that manually.

The tree chopper will take down a full tree if you use an axe - it takes longer the bigger the tree is. To only remove the log block you are hitting, sneak and chop.

If you are looking for a more substantial pack, how about checking out Mythos or Chronos? Or if you are just looking for pure Prehistoric Nature as a ready-to-go modpack, it's here: Purely Prehistoric Nature

Sample configurations for this modpack:
The main thing to really get bothered about is whether you intend to use shaders or not. If you want to play with shaders it is highly recommended that you switch off the Prehistoric Nature fogs and skies, as they can conflict badly (on the other hand, our bespoke fogs and skies are pretty, and you might prefer them to shaders!). The main mod now tries to handle these internally and detects whether you are running shaders and changes what it does accordingly. But in case it seems that things still cause a conflict with shaders, their config settings are found here:

your modpack config folder -> prehistoricnature_general.cfg ->

B:renderCustomSkies=true [change to false]
B:renderFog=true [change to false]

If you don't want to use the Prehistoric Nature plant propagation methods, and you just want saplings and plants to drop like in vanilla Minecraft, with no seeds and spores, you can change this:

your modpack config folder -> prehistoricnature_general.cfg ->

B:doPropagation=true [change to false]

If you are playing this pack on a multiplayer server, the mod will manage multiplayer sleeping for you. You might want to adjust this config option:

your modpack config folder -> prehistoricnature_general.cfg ->

D:playerSleepPercent=100.0 [change to some other value]

Setup of this modpack:

For optimal performance, and minimising lag, you should edit your "JVM Arguments" for this modpack. We supply full instructions on how to do this in the FAQ section of our mod's Discord channel, linked at the top of this page. The JVM arguments for this modpack would be these (the initial 8 could be reduced, as it is the GB of RAM you are allocating to the pack, but don't go less than 4):

-Xmx8G -Xms4G -XX:+DisableExplicitGC -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+UseParNewGC -XX:+UseNUMA -XX:+CMSParallelRemarkEnabled -XX:MaxTenuringThreshold=15 -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=30 -XX:GCPauseIntervalMillis=150 -XX:+UseAdaptiveGCBoundary -XX:-UseGCOverheadLimit -XX:+UseBiasedLocking -XX:SurvivorRatio=8 -XX:TargetSurvivorRatio=90 -XX:MaxTenuringThreshold=15 -Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true -Dfml.ignoreInvalidMinecraftCertificates=true -XX:+UseFastAccessorMethods -XX:+UseCompressedOops -XX:+OptimizeStringConcat -XX:+AggressiveOpts -XX:ReservedCodeCacheSize=2048m -XX:+UseCodeCacheFlushing -XX:SoftRefLRUPolicyMSPerMB=10000 -XX:ParallelGCThreads=2
