Principles is a modpack oriented on working together. The pack is set up in such a way that no one person can become a walking god overnight. You can't plop down a block and automate your farm, you can't spawn thirty mobs a second and eviscerate them without even being in the same chunk, and you can't run a run a machine that creates a wealth of resources from thin air. If you want it, earn it.
 
This doesn't mean heavy staging, or any staging actually. We got yer disk storage, yer autocrafters, yer jetpacks, and even machines to mine the earth for you...

But it won't be as easy as you're used to, you may have to get creative. Some recipes are harder and others are disabled, but don't worry, because in addition to your hard work earning you resources and items, it can also earn you money. Money which can then be used to buy things you don't care to work towards. Some items are only obtainable through cold hard cash, some are also obtainable through cash but you can get by just playing, because nobody likes RNG. There's a variety of ways to earn money, depending on your play-style, but most importantly, the best way to earn is by being a savvy salesperson.

With nobody able to do it all, everyone having different skills and interests, servers have the opportunity to create a dynamic, thriving, economy. The kind not possible on a lot of modded playthroughs. If you love fighting the ender dragon, making custom tinkers tools, providing power, building beautiful things, magic more than tech, tech more than magic, good. Others might not. Sell your skills and expertise and make money, Then use that money to treat yourself.
 
This modpack was made for server admins. You're encouraged to tinker with the mechanics. If your players play differently, or your economy responds differently, adjust prices, adjust requirements to earn money, or add new ways for money to be used. Either new things to sell or new things to buy.
 
I can tell you that this pack will change over time as my server's needs change, and I encourage you to do the same on your server. Other than communities being different, your goal as a server admin might be different. You might want to reward building a certain way or in a certain place. You may want to reward certain achievements or recognize special players. Whatever you want to do, now you have something valuable even in modded, that is not really farmable, is easily adjustable, and you can tweak to suit your needs.
