About
Description
Pure Grit is an enjoyable survival based pack that combines survival mods like Tough As Nails with tech mods and magic mods like Immersive Engineering and Thaumcraft to create a new, fresh, and difficult way to enjoy the kitchen sink modpack experience. Players are forced to juggle thirst, temperature, and the ever changing season while utilities like heating coils, cooling coils, portable temperature regulators, and thirst quenchers are completely uncraftable. Long term survival lays within using technology to power the Temperature Regulator machine (which takes 200 RF/t to maintain), but of course that isn't all. Every 3 nights a horde of mobs lay siege, with each attack stronger than the last. For this, Open Modular Turrets are of great value. Oh and Garden Cloches are nerfed to take 100 RF/t to run and produce at half the speed they normally do, still pretty fast, still a great long term solution, but now alternatives like the Phytogenic Insolator look more viable. It's up to you to decide which one you want to go with in terms of food production because your crops only grow in the ground in certain seasons and in winter this will definitely be a problem (I disabled greenhouse glass as well so be warned). Make sure as well that you don't forget about the magic mods like Bewitchment, Psi, and Abyssalcraft that add in many frightening new challenges and dastardly good rewards. With this many different obstacles to face daily and with such a wide variety of tools and options, thinking outside the box isn't helpful. It's damn near required.
