The mod pack has Technology, and plenty of storage options, there are bombs and nukes to send to another player if you happen to play with someone.

You can create a pet, from inventory pets, you can create your own tools from Tinkers Construct. There's plenty to do and explore on your own but adding players to the mix, will make it more interesting, because they could become a speedster, superman, or even get ahold of the infinity gauntlet. ProjectE is in here along with Chickens mod and Mystical Agriculture, so plenty of ways to gain resources, along with refined storage, so you have plenty of storage. If you want you could have a pet dinosaur, or a dragon to ride around on. If with another player there is the secret rooms mod so your base would be harder to find, if you are careful. Just remember to have fun if playing by yourself or with a friend, but be careful everything you do has a consequence, and there will be a Reckoning.
