These settings provide a good balance between visuals, exploration distance and performance on most gaming PCs.

🟡 Lower-End PCs

Render Distance: 8–10 chunks
Simulation Distance: 6–8 chunks
Entity Distance: 50–75%
Graphics: Fast
Particles: Decreased
Shaders: OFF

If you experience stuttering while exploring new areas, reduce Render Distance first.

Render Distance: 16–20 chunks
Simulation Distance: 10–12 chunks

Higher render distances are possible, but world generation can become significantly more demanding while exploring new chunks.

🧠 RAM RECOMMENDATIONS

⭐ UNIVERSAL RECOMMENDATION: 8 GB

For the majority of players:

Allocate 8192 MB / 8 GB of RAM to Relic Forge Odyssey.

Minimum

6 GB

Recommended only when playing without shaders and with lower render distances.

Recommended

8 GB

The best option for normal gameplay, exploration, bosses, Create and general progression.

Heavy Gameplay / Shaders

10 GB

Useful when using shaders, higher render distances or exploring large amounts of new terrain.

Maximum normally needed

10–12 GB

Allocating huge amounts of RAM will not automatically increase FPS. In most cases, 8 GB is the ideal starting point.

If your computer has only 8 GB of total system RAM, try allocating around 5–6 GB and close unnecessary background applications.

For systems with 16 GB or more, 8 GB allocated to Minecraft is recommended.

🎨 SHADERS

Relic Forge Odyssey supports shaders through Oculus + Embeddium.

For the best combination of visuals and performance, use a Medium shader preset first and increase quality only if your FPS remains stable.

If you experience low FPS:

Disable shaders → lower Render Distance → lower Simulation Distance.

These changes usually have a much larger performance impact than simply adding more RAM.

🌎 EXPLORATION TIP

Relic Forge Odyssey contains extensive world generation, structures and creatures.

Some temporary FPS drops or stutters can occur when entering completely new terrain because Minecraft is generating new chunks.

Once an area has already been generated, performance should normally be smoother.

⚠️ IMPORTANT

For the intended experience, avoid removing gameplay, world-generation or optimization mods from the pack unless you know exactly what they do.

Existing worlds may depend on them.
