About

This modpack is a random collection of mods based loosely around the main themes of tech, trains, farming and magic.

The original SRM (Some Random Mods) was created with an emphasis on creative mode, on version 1.7.10. Since then, the modpack has developed, moving to 1.12.2, increasing the size of the modlist, and changing the emphasis to survival (although it still works perfectly well for creative use, with mods like worldedit for large building projects).

Allocating 8GB RAM is recommended for this pack, and it is quite intensive on most systems.

Check out our survival series using SRM2 here:

World Generation

Realistic Terrain Generation has been included to enable better worldgen. This is especially useful if you plan to make use of Immersive Railroading.

By default, RTG is enabled as the world generation option when you create the world (in the same place as you would switch to superflat etc.) However, it can always be disabled if you prefer.

Biomes o' Plenty is included in the modpack. However, as this world generation system must also be enabled in the same way, I am unsure if they will work together properly or if you will have to choose one over the other.

Mod List

A full mod list for each version can be found here.

Regarding Optifine

Optifine is not officially supported by Forge. As such, I am unable to directly add it to this pack, and cannot guarantee compatibility with all the mods included. That being said, you are welcome to manually add it, although I will not fix any issues arising from using it.

Issues

  • Please report any bugs on the issue tracker above, not in the comments.
In v2.7 the custom Solar Panels have mysteriously disappeared, I'll look at getting these back in place soon. EDIT v2.8: Custom Solar Panels have returned, but the connected textures are not currently working.
