Description

Steam & Settlements!

Steam & Settlements is an overhaul modpack/mod designed to integrate the mechanical complexity of the Create mod with the community-driven progression of MineColonies.

Rather than these two mods existing as separate entities, this project bridges them to create a "living factory" experience. You aren't just building machines for yourself; you are building an industrial infrastructure to support the growth, safety, and prosperity of your citizens.

Key Features

  • Integrated Resource Pipelines: Utilize Create’s belts, funnels, and chutes to automate the delivery of raw materials directly to MineColonies' Warehouses.

  • Mechanical Infrastructure: Move beyond static buildings. Use rotational power to create functional colony gates, drawbridges, and elevators that your citizens interact with.

  • Logistics Overhaul: Replace standard chest-sorting with visual logistics. See your colony’s wheat being milled by large-scale mechanical stones before it is delivered to the Colony Baker.

  • Themed Progression: A curated progression path where advancing your colony's level unlocks more complex mechanical components, encouraging a balanced playstyle between "The Mayor" and "The Engineer."

How This Affects Your Experience

In a standard playthrough, MineColonies can feel like a waiting game for resources, and Create can feel like a lonely laboratory. This project changes that dynamic entirely:

  1. Purposeful Automation: Every automated iron farm or cobblestone generator you build has a direct impact on your colony’s expansion. You aren't just hoarding items; you are fueling a growing population.

  2. Immersive Logistics: Instead of items disappearing into a digital storage system, you will experience the satisfaction of seeing a train pull into your colony station, unloading the wood and stone required for your level 5 Town Hall.

  3. Dynamic Living Spaces: Your colony stops being a collection of static NPC huts and starts feeling like a steampunk metropolis. The player experience shifts from "surviving" to "civilizing," where your mechanical creativity solves the survival needs of your villagers.

Why This Project Is Special

While many packs include both mods, Steam & Settlements focuses on the synergy between them. It encourages the player to think about "Social Engineering"—how to use rotational force to make a colony more efficient, safer, and more visually impressive.
