Description
steVENOMs SMP - Trails and Tales provides plenty of small quality-of-life updates to the vanilla game while offering a handful of new features that are more prominent while still complementing the vanilla Minecraft SMP experience.
Some examples of tweaks include:
- AppleSkin - you will now see more information about your hunger and healing when holding food.
- Areas - you can now create named regions to your world for things like bases, towns, projects, and more. Simply use a sign to specify the radius and name, for example [Area] 50 Town will create an area called town with a radius of 50 blocks centered on that sign. Players entering this area will see the name of the area at the top of their hud.
- Filled to the Brim - you can place empty shulker boxes inside other shulker boxes, because why not? You can place chests inside them, after all.
- Advancement Screenshot - your game will automatically take a screenshot every time you achieve an advancement so you can look back at where you were when you achieved certain goals.
- Toggle Item Frames - you can make item frames invisible by sneak right-clicking them with an empty hand, excellent for labeling storage chests!
- Furnace Recycle - you can now smelt metal items down that typically do nothing in a furnace, giving more purpose to those partially broken armor pieces dropped by zombies for example.
- CatJam - as the name suggests, cats will now jam along to music in the world when they are near a playing music disks.
- Falling Tree - you can now chop down an entire tree by chopping the bottom block instead of having to climb them. Your axe's durability will behave the same as if you had manually broken each individual block.
Some more substantial features include:
- Extra Sponges - new varieties of sponges now exist, allowing you to absorb more water depending on the tier of sponge being used. Also includes a lava sponge!
- Waystones - you'll now find Waystones throughout your world and also will be able to craft them. Waystones allow you to easily teleport between locations without the need for nether portals!
- Macaw's Fences and Walls + Paintings - you'll now have recipes for new types of fences and walls, including barbed wires fences, which damage mobs that get too close. You'll also notice a plethora of new paintings as you place them.
- Omni-hopper - need a hopper but don't have iron? No problem! Omni-hopper provides a new item called the whopper, which is a wooden variant of the hopper that only has one inventory slot and is slower than the hopper. Also, the mod adds an omni-hopper which allows you to have full control over your hopper placements, including upward-facing hoppers!
- Quartz Elevator - want to be able to quickly teleport within a short distance around your base? Want an easy entrance and exit to your cave base? Quartz elevators allow you to craft and place short-range elevators that are activated by simply standing on them and sneaking, great for moving around your builds.
Sound Physics - you'll notice that sounds in the game now work a bit differently, reacting much closer to real-life sounds. Sounds that are muffled will sound muffled, caves will have much more reverb, and so on. Coupled with the vanilla spacial sound feature found in sound settings, you'll notice that you'll also be able to hear players and mobs much more accurately and be able to defend yourself from attackers before they get too close!
These are just some of the many new features that are included in steVENOM's SMP - Trails and Tales. Enjoy this new vanilla+ modpack designed for both servers and single-player worlds!
This project is in-progress, so new mods will be added as mods are updated to support the 1.20 Trails and Tales update.
