Description
We're currently experimenting with a new branch of the modpack. This new branch might be a large detour from Journey Vibe's original intentions, but rest assured I will continue work on the older version in the future
Journey Vibes is a mod pack I made for myself as someone who enjoys games that are less of an adventure and more of a journey. Think of the experience of a train ride along the countryside, or a walk along a nature trail. It tries to maintain a nice balance between vanilla and modded, with the three furthest-from-vanilla mods being Create, Origins, and Hephaestus.
This pack is not for everyone. It lacks any sort of overall objective, it doesn't seek to make any sort of major overhaul to the game, and frankly, it wasn't made with any sort of cohesive vision. That said, I have some very specific criteria that I tend to follow seeking to not trivialize every part of the game. Some mods are specifically chosen because they draw out some process, or are in some way a clunky imperfect solution to a problem. I've tried to maintain the mindset that most problems in Minecraft do not deserve a perfect and immediate solution and that the process of figuring out how to solve these problems with the tools at your disposal should be part of the fun.
This is not a pack made by professionals. It is not a pack made with an understanding of how mods interact, how to improve performance, or how to make different mods interact better. Anything included may be subject to change on a whim, and you may find that certain versions may be more of a misstep than others. I'd warn against updating frequently without having backups of your worlds before you update. I will try my best to polish the modpack as I go and make more features work together with each other, but I make no guarantees that this will be some permanent personal project of mine.
Anyway, while I would've kept this pack to myself, some friends of mine have been enjoying it and I wanted to make a way to more easily distribute updates for a private server we're running. However, I figure I'm probably not the only person looking for this kind of experience, and I hope some others will enjoy it.
(Also, to be clear, I am in no way involved with any of the mods, resource packs, shader packs, or data packs included in this pack. Some of them have been configured using the provided configuration files to make balance changes or otherwise disable, enable, or change certain features of what is contained. If there is anything in particular you greatly enjoy I would encourage you to go support the respective creators responsible for those features in any way you can.)
