About

Description

This modpack features a series of mods which look to improve and flesh out under-baked ideas and mechanics in the 1.12.2 base game including hunger, night time gameplay, and combat challenge. In addition to this, the pack adds mods which improve quality of life, making the experience more in-line with today's standard visually. The vision of this modpack is to strictly stick to vanilla-like changes and items; there are no tech, magic, nor decorative mods included. This means mods selected stick within the original art-style, and seem to hardly stray from it.

Survival in the modpack was chosen to be more naturally challenging, rather artificially (thirst or temperature). It's highly encouraged to create a base, farm, and explore in order to survive. Food is no longer an easy click and forget (Spice of Life), farming is dynamic (Serene Seasons), and exploration is far more challenging.

Every 3 days a raid will occur (Hostile Worlds: Invasions), spawning mining zombies, and other randomly chosen enemies to attack you. This gets progressively harder depending on the current equipment and other statistics a specific player has. Added on top, improved mobs improves the challenge, making it much harder to defend off raids. (side note: raids can be skipped up to 3 times with the sacrifice block).  Also you can't sleep during raid nights. Also also, night time is completely simulated while sleeping in beds.

Exploration is more fluid, allowing you to mark locations on a compass with an anvil, as well as teleport to said marked locations with the teleportation enchant applied (Maps can do this too). This comes at the cost of experience based off the level of enchant. Darkness is more dark, torches are more of a resource, and with the combat challenge, exploration is more difficult overall.
