DISCLAIMER:
This modpack is a modification of the popular Tekkit 2 Modpack. This is NOT an official Technic modpack. I do not claim to own the rights to any assets being used in this modpack. This is an attempt at revising and improving upon the original Tekkit 2 experience. This modpack is also not without its fair share of bugs. There shouldn't be anything game-breaking, but I just wanted to give a heads up that there is no guarantee of a bug-free experience.
OVERVIEW:
This modpack is both a revision and expansion of the popular modpack Tekkit 2! This page will detail the changes made from the original modpack, as well as the added and removed mods.
Tekkit 2 - Aftermath takes place long after a mysterious apocalypse. Now, the landscape is dotted with ruins of the ancient world and keeps of evil factions on the rise. This world is large, expansive, and unforgiving. There are no naturally generating villages, though you can find villagers, and you can build your own village. This modpack expands on Tekkit 2 with mods such as Tektopia, Tinkers Construct, WarpDrive, Climatic Biomes, and Pam's HarvestCraft.
Optifine is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. You may get some visual glitches here and there, but the dynamic lights are necessary with Hardcore Darkness.
You may notice that the Dynamic Lights is already included in this modpack. Unfortunately, it is not as performant as Optifine, so it's only used to make gold helmets have dynamic lights. If you would like to use the Dynamic Lights mod instead of Optifine, you can navigate to the config files and delete them to reset them to default settings.
Recommended Version: Optifine HD U G5
TEKKIT 2 CHANGES:
- Galacticraft has been removed in favor of WarpDrive
- ProjectRed Volcanos have been removed from world generation, but have been replaced. More on that in the World Generation section
- ProjectRed gem armors are now craftable
- ProjectE has been nerfed.
- Energy Collectors are no longer obtainable. EMC Exploits still exist, so go crazy with that.
- Swiftwolf's Rending Gale now requires an Elytra where it originally required an Iron Band
- VoxelMap has been removed in favor of Xaero's Worldmap and Minimap
- MAtmos has been removed in favor of Dynamic Surroundings. This is a clientside change, however. You can change this back if you so desire.
- Minor Integrations and Additions has been removed due to a fatal bug it has with Mo' Creatures Extended. Apparently, it has been fixed, but I like to be on the safer side.
This next section will detail lists of mods added in various categories, though not all mods are noted here. Starting with...
WORLD GENERATION
- Climatic Biomes
For those unfamiliar, Climatic Biomes adds a terrain generator which separates biomes into temperature and climate categories, such as Cold Swamp, Warm Swamp, Warm Forest, etc. This mod also allows customization of what biomes go in what categories. I've used this feature to carefully include biomes from Biomes O' Plenty and Traverse Reforged that were realistic (for the most part). This mod also adds several new biomes, one of which being volcano. The biome organization uses fractal noise, which looks great for the most part, but can result in tiny or scattered biomes. Just a heads up.
- Biomes O' Plenty
- Traverse Reforged
- Streams
- Structures:
- Chocolate Quest Repoured
Note: These dungeons are hard. Do not underestimate the difficulty of these dungeons. Come prepared.
- Modern Ruins Pack
- Side note: As mentioned in the overview, villages do not generate in the world. This is to match with the theme of the world, but also since Tektopia is used, you can build your own village. Villagers can be found in Chocolate Quest structures, so you can make your own vanilla village.
