About

Description

Test Pack No More is the successor to Test Pack Please Ignore, but the similarities end with the name and the fact that it is community - made from some people from r/feedthebeast. This pack aims to be more of a "true" kitchen sink, in that you can play however you want, and the different play styles are fairly balanced.

Note: This is not an official r/feedthebeast mod pack.

Differences from your normal kitchen sink pack:

  • Balancing and recipe changes - Many recipes for things like quarries and fuels have been changed both for balancing and to prevent you, essentially, from placing down a quarry after playing the game for 30 minutes and being at the end game.
  • Tech endgame changes - Instead of opting for ultra op, ultra grind, "dump 300 million rf into this block and get a cool sword" type of endgame, we wanted the endgame to be a bit different, including space exploration and endgame states of mods that are not normally pushed there because of the presence of Draconic Evolution or Avaritia.
  • Ore generation - Instead of having you go around and strip mine 3 chunks for the first hour of the pack, we opted for Geolysys ore generation. What this means is that ore veins will be much bigger, but also much less common. To deal with this, you will search the surface for surface samples, which are clues to the ore that is under it. You can also use things like the Prospectors' Pick, the Pickaxe of the Core, or scanners from Scannable to find the ore you're looking for.
  • Advancements (WIP) - Not everyone likes having no clear goals or direction to follow while playing. So we decided to use advancements, as guidelines, rather than incentives, for how to progress through the pack. The advancements and a book given from the start should explain many of the end game changes and other notable changes that we've made.
