Description
Why ?
I used to test mods interactions, see if no bug append, and to do so, it's always the same:
- new profile containing very few mods that helps.
- a superflat world using the 43:8 block.
- few repetitive commands.
So, after some exchanges with Squeek502, I had the idea to create a proper modpack as a "standardized" testbed available for everyone ! :)
The map preset included contain:
- block 43:8 as floor
- a column of conveniently pre-filled command blocks with redstone contraptions:
- Enabling/Disabling Daylight cycles.
- Enabling/Disabling mob spawning.
- Warp to different hours of the day and the night aswell.
- Incrementing or decrementing the time of the day.
- Activating or disabling weather auto-cleaning.
Mods included:
- Admin Command Toolbox
- Aroma1997 Core
- Aroma Backup
- CodeChicken Core
- Hardcore Map Reset
- Inventory Tweak
- NotEnoughItems
- NotEnoughResources
- Waila
- Waila Harvestability
How to test a mod/mods interaction ?
- Install and unlock this profile.
- install the required mods for the test (pay attention to the versions used).
- launch the profile and create a new world using the provided preset.
- Test things, or try to reproduce the bug you're aware of.
- ...
- PROFIT.
- Post your logs in Gist or any decent code highligting/sharing site.
- Create a new ticket in the issue tracker of the concerned mod(s) with the link to your gist.
Tips: if you want a swift and friendly answer from the mod authors/maintainers, be sure to be polite and don't assume a thing, you don't know how they work, something that look trivial may mean a total rewrite of a mod ! And also, they are not under your command, they may eventually accept suggestions or feature requests, but they don't have to !
