Description

Welcome, to The Enemies of the Night!

In The Enemies of the Night, every second counts.

You have to make use of the entirety of every day, because at night, things change.

The beginning of the game is difficult with it being harder to get basic tools.

https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/tough-beginnings - The mod that probably has a better description than the following tutorial that I made.

Tough Beginnings

To start, you have to get a flint knife. To get this, you need one flint and a stick.

Flint Knife

When you break gravel, you may get raw flint. Which can be thrown at stone for a chance to get flint or flint shards (4 Flint shards make another gravel).

When you mine grass with the flint knife, you can get fiber which creates fiber rope if you put two together.

Fiber Rope

Then you create a flint axe with a flint, fiber rope, and stick.

Flint Axe

The axe allows you to mine trees.

When you hold the flint knife in your main hand, and a log in your off hand, you create wood blocks.

Wood Blocks

Almost there. You can create a fiber bush like so. This makes a fire when right clicked with a stick a few times.

Fiber Bush

When you right click the wood blocks on the fire, a tough wood block may come out, which is the replacement for planks in wooden tools.

Finally, you can continue playing normally.

There are stronger enemies that don't appear too often but are a big risk if you're in the open.

Typical mobs are also more of a challenge as their AI has been made to be smarter and better.

Some Examples of the Stronger Entities include:

Midnight LurkerThe Knocker

There is also a new temperature and water meter, so don't get too cold, hot, or thirsty.

Water acts like hunger too as you need to have it filled to heal up.

However, you can make Canteens with different materials like leather, copper, etc. These store water for multi-use drinking and have infinite refills.

Iron Canteen Recipe

Water bottles also work for drinking, however they only have one use until you have to refill.

Water can give you a thirst effect if it isn't purified, so you need a water purifier.

Finally, you have sanity. Don't let it get low.
