Themed around heavy machinery, factories, and automation reminiscent of the Industrial Revolution.
Themed around Victorian-era technology (steampunk) or early 20th-century technology (dieselpunk) with a retro-futuristic twist.
Set in a world after a major catastrophe, focusing on survival, scavenging, and rebuilding in a devastated landscape.
Centered around complex tech and/or magic where large-scale automation is necessary, often taking many hours to craft items and hundreds or thousands of hours to fully complete.
Focuses on automation and resource processing through scientific and mechanical means, utilizing systems like electricity (RF/FE/etc), air pressure, or rotation.
Includes a large focus on traversing worlds with enhanced world generation, structures, dungeons, and more for players to find unique loot.

🔩 What Is This Modpack?
The Final Project is a post-apocalyptic, lore-driven modpack built around Create as its core mechanic. The world once held a thriving steam-and-mechanical civilization called Varenholm — and then, one Tuesday morning, everything stopped. Every machine. Every train. Every wheel. All at once.
You wake up in the ruins of that world. You don't know how long you've been asleep. But the machines are still there.
Your goal: bring the hum back.
📖 Lore
The world of The Final Project is built on a rich original story spanning six chapters — from the first Builders who discovered mechanical power, to the Age of Steam, to the great railway network that connected a civilization, to the mysterious PROMETHEUS Project that tried to harness electricity — and was stopped by politics before it could change everything.
The Great Silence came not like a storm, but like winter. Slowly. Then all at once.
Scattered across the ruins are diary pages, research reports, and the last logs of a system called PROMETHEUS-7, still waiting in dormant mode for someone to flip the final switch.
Lore books are hidden throughout the world. Find them. Read them. Understand what happened.
⚙️ Core Gameplay
The Final Project is built around a clear progression:
Early Game — Survive. Gather resources. Build your first rotating machines with Create. The world is silent and dangerous.
Mid Game — Enter the Brass Age. Build automated factories, lay your first railway lines with Steam 'n' Rails, explore abandoned structures for ancient relics. Connect the world.
Late Game — Harness electricity with Create: New Age, achieving what the ancestors never could. Build an Applied Energistics 2 network — the Thinking Machine. Take to the skies with Create Aeronautics.
End Game — Found a colony. Connect everything. Craft The Prometheus Core.
🏆 The Prometheus Core — Endgame Goal
Inspired by modpacks like All the Mods, The Final Project has a single ultimate crafting goal: The Prometheus Core.
This is not a simple recipe. To craft it, you must:
- Master Create and reach the Brass Age
- Build a working railway network
- Harness electricity (Create: New Age)
- Build an AE2 storage network
- Found and grow a MineColonies colony
- Hunt down 5 ancient relics hidden in the deepest dungeons
- Combine three intermediate crafting stages into the final Core
When the Core is placed and the last switch is flipped — the hum returns.

- Full lore (German + English) — 6 chapters of original story

Coming soon:
- ⏳ Full FTB Quest line — ~180 quests across 12 chapters are designed and documented, currently being implemented in-game
- ⏳ Complete Endgame — The Prometheus Core recipe and final sequence are being implemented via a custom NeoForge mod currently in development
- ⏳ Dungeon Loot Tables — The 5 ancient relics will be added to specific dungeon structures
- ⏳ Lore Books — All 8 lore fragments as in-game readable books
