The Game of Life

The Game of Life, also known simply as Life, is a board game originally created in 1860 by Milton Bradley, as The Checkered Game of Life. The Game of Life was America's first popular parlor game. The game simulates a person's travels through his or her life, from college to retirement, with jobs, marriage, and possible children along the way. Two to four or six players can participate in one game. Variations of the game accommodate up to ten players.

The modern version was originally published 100 years later, in 1960. It was created and co-designed by toy and game designer Reuben Klamer and was "heartily endorsed" by Art Linkletter. It is now part of the permanent collection of the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History and an inductee into the National Toy Hall of Fame.

In 1960 the modern version, The Game of Life, was introduced. A collaboration between Reuben Klamer and Bill Markham, it consists of a track which passes along, over, and through small mountains, buildings, and other features. A player travels along the track in a small plastic automobile, according to the spins of a small wheel on the board with spaces numbered 1 through 10. Each car has six holes into which pegs are added as the player "gets married" and "acquires children". Some "early modern" editions have eight cars. This version has ten different car color options to select from. There is also a bank which includes automobile, life, and/or homeowners' insurance policies; $20,000 promissory notes and stock certificates. 

Fast Forward to 2020! This new decade brings to you The Game of Life Modpack. Fully playable for 2 to 10 players! Load up this pack on your server and have a fun game to play on a late night or just to blow off some steam while you have builders block. Fully made game board with custom tiles and game pieces. You must load the lite resource pack included with the install to see the in game items re-textured properly. This pack is a very lite pack to retain usability and accessibility for all. I have only re-textured some of the vanilla textures to ensure everyone has the same experience. You may need to disable your own custom texture pack for the paintings and some item textures to render properly. 

To load the texture pack click on "Options". Click on "Resource Packs". Select The Game of Life resource pack under Available packs and click on "Done". The game may take a minute or so to load before responding again. Once loaded you will see the correct textures on all items used for the game. Please note that you will be in Adventure mode while in game so you will not be able to break and place blocks. You will be able to interact with chests and buttons you find along the way. 

Instructions for play are provided in the game lobby online. Please refer back to them as you play. Most all questions can be answered by following the rules. In the event that the game breaks during play please reach out to me and let me know as many details as possible so I can create a fix.
