Something happened in these cities. Whatever it was, it left them empty — and the silence that's left behind doesn't feel like relief. It feels like something is still waiting for you to stop paying attention.

You go in prepared, or as prepared as anyone ever is. A flashlight. A few batteries. A weapon that won't fire. Armor that won't really protect anything. It doesn't matter. It never does. It just decides how long things take.

The testimonies contradict each other. Numbers change between pages. Someone is lying, and no one is going to tell you who. Some of what's out there doesn't stay inside the game — if you go looking, you'll find it.

Injuries don't heal on their own timeline here. A broken leg stays broken when something starts closing the distance. What gets hurt, stays hurt, for exactly as long as it should.

You won't leave this understanding what happened. You'll leave carrying pieces that don't fit together — and some nights,
