Description

This is an easier version of the Modpack "The new continent".

Here is the original version: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks/the-new-continent

Summary

The new continent is the goal of every adventurer seeking for glory and fame, but those do not come so easily. There are many threats hidden in the shadows of the world. Monsters that lurk the night, beasts that hunt the depths of the abyss and much more. Every night is a battle to survive. Fight against hordes of zombies, undead armies and defeat epic bosses. On your way you will have to learn magic and the art of forging weapons. This will be a long journey. Good luck Adventurer!

It is best recommended that you go into this modpack blind and not research crafting recipes, items or mods. You might spoil yourself some of the minimal story! (Set up a Hotkey for Better Questing, by default "P", for the story/progression)

Features:

  • No hunger (Food will instead heal you slowly)
  • Better combat (Dual wielding, shields are nerfed, attack animations)
  • Seasons (Food will grow slower depending on the season and the weather will change)
  • Forging (Just crafting Iron tools is not possible anymore. Either upgrade them in a workbench or forge them)
  • Storyline
  • More structures (30+ new structures to explore)
  • Indepth magic system (Mahou tsukai, hexerei, Spells & Shields, Better Enchanting)
  • Bosses
  • Immersive atmosphere
  • More difficult monsters
  • Random Hordes of monsters
  • and much more

Guide:

The early game has changed quite a bit. To craft a furnace you have to smelt copper on a campfire. Since you need iron to gather coal you need to opt for charcoal, which you get by burning down logs. Find a cave with copper for a furnace.

After getting a furnace your next step will be to get a forge. For a forge you need 2 iron blocks, so it is time to go mining. But before you can do that you should prepare plenty of food and a few torches. (Place sticks on a campfire). Building a shelter before night, which should be soon, is vital. Don't forget that creepers can blow up walls so don't take this step too lightly. During the night you can also mine stone for iron nuggets.

When you manage to gather enough iron to craft a forge you can finally craft iron armor and tools. From here on out progression is a lot more open-ended. You can choose to start advancing in a lot of different fields like Powder magic (Mahou Tsukai), Witchcraft (Hexerei), Enchanting (Spells & Shields and Enchantment infuser) or Forging (Tetra).

Food will probably have become a problem by now as your starting rations have decreased. Try to find a stable food sources as soon as possible, like farming, fishing, animals or looting structures.

And at last when you have established a food source, delved a bit deeper into the mechanics of the world and equipped some gear you can go and explore the vast world. Structures are very far away from each other so prepare for a long journey!

Good Luck!
