Adventuring out into the unknown, desolate lands fighting senseless, ancient enemies never before seen and simply enjoying the world around you. Or so you thought. You feel yourself being watched, stalked, perhaps you truly aren't alone in this world.

About

Description

Note: The modpack is still in beta and you should expect to come across bugs as well as other imbalances. It is recommended that you allocate around 5-6GB of ram for it to run smoothly. However, 4GB should still suffice.

What is The Nightmare Project

What started out as simply just a quick modpack for me and my friends to play has turned into my first attempt at creating a modpack with the perfect sense of adventure and horror at once. The modpack allows for you to explore far and wide while fighting numerous bosses just like any other RPG modpack, but once night has fallen, the danger has significantly risen. Your attempts at survival will revolve around how well you can hide from the dangers that are always lurking.

Feature

  • Includes the popular horror mods that many many be familiar with (The Man From The Fog, Siren Head, From The Fog, etc) but also rather unknown mods that amplify the experience.
  • Proximity Voice Chat alongside radios for long distance communication with friends.
  • Several bosses to fight that have all been tweaked in some way to give a better sense of progression.
  • Numerous unique structures to explore from, each with varying loot.
  • An entirely new way of playing horror packs, different from the usual vanilla-like feel that many tend to have.
  • Built-in shaders for the player to choose from that allows for very immersive playthroughs.
  • A new temperature and thirst system that forces players to worry about more than just their health.
  • An insanity meter that further increases the horror factor as your living conditions worsen.
  • Massively improved performance compared to vanilla and several other modpacks for single-player and multiplayer/servers.
