Description
TERRA NOVA
This was made for myself and a couple of friends.
It's a 1.20.1 kitchen sink modpack with Mekanism and Create for tech, Twilight Forest and Iron's Spellbooks for adventure, and a decent focus on worldgen mods. Nothing there is new. The ony thing I actually spent my time on is the quest book.
The quest book
Most quests in packs this size are a just an item list; Obtain one Metallurgic Infuser, obtain one Mixer, obtain one of every ingot. You end up clicking through it with stuff you already had in a chest, and by day three the book doesn't mean anything anymore.
So I wrote(/plan to write) about 500 quests that mostly can't be done that way. The automation chapters ask for 1,024 steel ingots. 2,048 andesite alloy. 100k FE/t. Theese cant just be completed with your extra items, and the good rewards sit behind those quests specifically, not behind the easy ones. Every quest has a description that tells you what the thing does and why you'd want it, written out properly instead of restating the item name.
It also branches instead of running in one line. Decoration and exploration have their own chapters that don't gate anything, so if you don't build you can skip all of that, and if building is the whole reason you're here you can ignore the reactors and go make a town.
That book took longer than everything else combined. It's the reason the pack exists.
