About

Description

After playing modded Minecraft for a while with friends - specifically, the Infinity Lite pack - we decided that there were some things about the pack that we weren't entirely happy with, and that there wasn't really a pack on the Twitch client that catered to everyone's needs. A lot of the most fun mods (e.g. Thermal Expansion, Redstone Arsenal, etc.) were present only in the FTB Beyond pack. However, with many people using lower-end machines, this wasn't a feasible pack to play, so Infinity Lite was the main choice. However, there were quite a few mods in both Infinity Lite and Beyond that we decided weren't worth having around.

With this in mind, we decided to create our own pack, with Infinity Lite as a baseline. We then added in a few mods from Beyond that we wanted and removed some of the cruft/unused material from Infinity Lite (e.g. Platforms, IndustrialCraft, Forestry.) The finishing touches on the pack were exploration and magic based mods such as Ars Magica and Abyssalcraft, as well as utilities like Bad Wither No Cookie (an especially important mod when people on the server are progressing through the Draconic Evolution tech tree.) Some balance changes have been made with the help of CraftTweaker. MMD Ore Spawn is also available if customization of ore spawn is necessary.

The full modlist (one with all dependencies, one without) is available in the Pages section of this project for those of you who are like me and dislike the fact that Twitch doesn't offer a way for you to see what's in a pack BEFORE installing it. If you're in the Twitch client and want to view the modlist, click the "Website" button in the top-right when viewing this profile, click "Project Site", and then go to Pages. Users browsing on the CurseForge site should be able to just click Pages.
