FAQ:
"I have never played any modpack before, is this a good start?"
Yes. There is nothing really complicated you have a pickaxe you mine, you have a weapon you attack, the most complicated thing is probably magic which in itself is not difficult to learn. There are also hints featured in the quest book about a specific item you are meant to obtain.
"Any cool mods in particular that are included in this modpack?"
Ice and Fire, Aether Legacy, Atum 2, Twilight Forest, Project_e, Roguelike Dungeons...
"On a scale from 1 to 10, how difficult is this modpack?" (1 being the easiest)
I'd say 6 This modpack is designed to be hard, for example:
-The nights are completely dark, you won't be able to get far without a torch
-Undead creatures are significantly more resistant to normal attacks
-Passive mobs, like villagers or horses may attack you if you provoke them
-A diamond chestplate in vanilla minecraft can be crafted out of 8 diamonds, here, you will require 38 to craft one.
This makes the gear more scarce and harder to come by
Modpack is designed so that mining shouldn't give you any powerful gear early game
"You said this modpack has 10 chapters, is there any meaningful story behind it?
There is! In this modpack, you're a survivor of an apocalypse, who travels through the time and looks for ancient artefacts. The 10 chapters include various stages of the game, in these chapters, you are introduced to the mods gradually while you also gain power when you progress.
"Can I play this on a potato PC?"
Depends on what you mean by "potato PC", however, generally I do not recommend to do that. You should also allocate more memory since the worldgen gets pretty intensive at times.
The utter minimum in my opinion are these parameters (Last time I have played this modpack on this kind of computer):
-4 GB (RAM)
-64-Bit OS
-2.40 GHz (Processor)
"I can't progress with quests! What should I do?"
1.locate your saves folder >> open "your world".
2.remove the folder "betterquesting" from the directory.
3.load up your game.
4.open the world to lan while enabling the cheats. (allow cheats)
5.type the command: " /bq_admin edit on "
6.open your questbook >> select quests
7.choose chapter 1 >> press edit
8.choose chapter 1 >> press designer
9.hover over the buttons on the right >> press "manual complete"
10.complete all the quests you have done already
11.after you're done, exit the questbook
12.type the command: " /bq_admin edit off "
13.restart the game
