About
Description
You are Trapd now!
What is TRAPD?
TRAPD is another minecraft kitchen sink experience, though we added something a bit unusual. Here you'll find everything from Applied Energistics to WR-CBE, we got magic, tech, jetpacks, rails, tinkering, crops, food, dragons, and somehow managed to put Pixlemon in this mess! It's messy, it's a bit unstable, but that's the point. This is Frankenstein's monster in Minecraft modpack form!
What YOU need to know.
The TRAPD experience is currently going through evolutionary stages, and as such, things are likely to change and break. This pack was centered around wanting more from the Pixelmon experience, with no clear direction where the player had to go.
Recommendations
As far as where to start, it doesn't really matter. Pick up your tools and get to work! Throw down your Prefab starter house and get to gathering. Gather all the ores, pick all the flowers, cut down all the trees. Then, make a plan. Storage? Simple Storage Network, Colossal Chests, and Iron Chests will get you a long way until you are ready to build your storage computer. Power? Mekanism, Industrial Craft, or Extreme Reactors will be a good direction to head, if you choose to. Magic? Wizardry, Botania, Draconic Evolution and Thaumcraft (in v1.3+). Of course, we also have dungeons for the combat inclined, so take up your custom weapons from TInker's Construct, or choose from the massive collection in Spartan Weapons.
Recommended Hardware
TRAPD is a large pack, and requires a bit more memory as most large packs do. In your CurseForge client settings, under Minecraft, allocate between 6 and 7 GB of memory. Good Java garbage collection arguments are recommended, which will cut down on studders and freezing while playing. Have a look at this article for an explination on what Java arguments are and what they do. That article specifies 'for servers', though the premise is the same. Keep in mind, different arguments will have different effects to different versions of minecraft, so use this feature CAREFULLY My recommended argument string for this pack is '-XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:ParallelGCThreads=4 -XX:+DisableExplicitGC -Dsun.rmi.dgc.server.gcInterval=2147483646 -XX:+UnlockExperimentalVMOptions -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=35'. Again, refer to that article and research 'JVM Minecraft Garbage Collection' if you need more understanding for this.
