Description

Minecraft Unchained

Close to vanilla, yet so far!

Introduction

This pack aims to provide a close to vanilla experience for technically minded players that don't have enough time at hand to stick with the vanilla version of the game.

Each addition to the pack aims to solve a specific "issue" with vanilla Minecraft while preserving the vanilla tech mechanics. In order to achieve this, each addition is carefully considered and tweaked to avoid overpowered parts of any mod.

Mods

Almost all mods have some of its original mechanics and capabilities removed, and/or adjusted recipes.

AppleSkin

Adds information about food to the UI.

Bedrock Miner

Adds a block that is able to break bedrock. This allows easier creation of wither cages and small scale bedrock removal. Large scale removal should still be done with dragon eggs. [This mod also adds bedrock tools. As soon as a config option becomes available, these will be disabled.]

Better Builder's Wands

Adds wands to place large amounts of blocks at once.

Better mobGriefing GameRule

Allows to enable/disable single mobGriefing rules instead of a plain on/off. The pack disables enderman griefing by default, but leaves everything else active.

Chicken Chunks 1.8.+

Adds simple chunkloaders as vanilla chunk loading is important, but very annoying to do.

CT TinyCoal

Adds mini coals that smelt only 1 item.

Ex Nihilo: Creatio

Adds hammers that allow the player to create gravel and sand from cobblestone. This makes both resources farmable. In addition, the barrels and crucibles offer ways to create mycelium, clay, lava and obsidian. The sieves got nerfed heavily. Infested leaves wont spread and wont drop string. [As soon as the option becomes available, the mod will be reduced to barrel, crucibles and hammers.]

Fast Leaf Decay

Nobody has time to wait for leaves to decay. The decay time was lowered significantly, however, it is still way higher than the default option of "Fast Leaf Decay". This might changes tree farm designs significantly.

GraveStone Mod

As dying is rather rare for advanced players anyway, there is no reason to potentially loose all items.

JourneyMap

Adds ingame waypoints and a useful map for orientation.

JEI

Adds the necessary item overview. In order to keep JEI clean and useful, a very large amount of items are hidden by default.

Magic Feather

Adds creative flight in the area of a beacon. This should make building large scale projects and machines significantly easier and faster.

More Overlays

Adds a light level overlay to actually see dark spots.

Mouse Tweaks

Adds some nice tweaks to the mouse wheel and clicks.

Netherending Ores

The vanilla nether is quite big but boring. Netherending ores adds some basic ores to the dimension in order to encourage players to build a vanilla quarry in the nether. The rate of ores should be low enough to make strip mining in the nether rather unattractive, especially with the lava pockets.

Schematica

Makes building of large scale machines and constructions easier.

Storage Drawers

Adds some more convenient and lag friendly storage solutions.

Quark

Most changes that quark offers are active in this pack.

You can check out the full list of features here: https://quark.vazkii.us/

Most notable additions:

  • Dispensers can place blocks/seeds
  • Piston block breakers
  • Pistons can move tile entities

The most notably parts of quark that are disabled:

  • Ender Watcher
  • Stained Wooden Planks
  • Auto Tool Restock
  • Chicken Shedding
  • Enderman Anti-Cheese
  • Sheep Armor
  • All changes to world generation like Crystal Caves/Dungeon Variety
Translocation Mod

The translocation bug was a great "addition" to minecraft. Sadly it got removed. This mod brings a lot of that functionality back as a block.

Uppers

Adds upside down hoppers.

Wearable Backpacks

Adds a basic inventory increase.

Crafting recipes

Shulker Box

Shulker Boxes are too rare for technical players. Now you can farm/craft them instead of duping.

Sponge

Hunting for sponges is annoying and just increases your world file.

Cobweb

A very useful block that is annoying to come by.

Dragon Egg

Can now be crafted instead of duped.

Sand/Red Sand conversions

Craftable conversion instead of duping.

Dead Bush

Adds a way to smelt tall grass into dead bushes.

Podzol

Podzol can be crafted with dirt and spruce leaves.

Packed Ice

Can be crafted from normal ice.
