Description

Valhalla Factory is a mid-sized modpack focused on mechanical automation and exploration, built primarily for personal use, so the contents of the pack may change significantly between versions, major changes will always be outlined in the changelog. The name comes from a friend's Discord server, this pack has no connection to Norse mythology.

Core progression is built around Create, Tinker's Construct, and Ars Nouveau, while world generation is expanded with William Wythers' Expanded Ecosphere, Tectonic, Structory, and Moog's mods, adding diverse biomes and structures.

For wildlife and combat, Mowzie's Mobs and Critters and Companions introduce a range of creatures, both friendly and hostile. Better Combat and First-Person Model refine combat mechanics.

Visual upgrades come from Fresh Animations, Fresh Moves, AL's mob retextures, and Drodi's mob retextures, improving vanilla mob textures and animations.


Several mods may require adjustment based on personal preference.

  • First Person Camera lets you see your character in first person. Disable it with F6.
  • Do A Barrel Roll changes Elytra controls to a flight simulator style. Disable it via hotkey or adjust it within the Mods menu.
  • CameraOverhaul adds screen wobble and tilt. Reduce or disable these effects in the Mods menu.

There are a handful of shaders installed, they were picked specifically for compatibility with Distant Horizons (when it gets fixed it's getting readded to the pack). The intended shader, the one I use and customized the settings for, is Stracciatella Shader.

Additionally, for the Stracciatella Shader and no shader, you will notice the pitch-black darkness, both in caves and on the surface during nighttime. If you wish to modify this, it can be done through vanilla Minecraft's brightness setting as well as the darkness settings of the Chlorite mod, still found in the video settings. However, the pack was designed with that darkness as an intended feature, one of a handful of small mods that work together to enhance the difficulty of the game without simply adding new and overpowered monsters.
