VoxelBoost

I made VoxelBoost because I wanted Minecraft to run better without changing too much of the original game.

VoxelBoost focuses on performance, faster chunk and world generation, and long-distance rendering with Voxy. The Experience version also has some mods I personally enjoy using, like better sounds, animations, QoL features, and a few visual and worldgen improvements.

It's not just made for potato PCs. I wanted a pack that could make Minecraft run smoother on different setups.

⚠️ Java 25 is required

VoxelBoost currently uses C2ME modules that require Java 25 or newer.

If Modrinth tries to launch the pack with Java 21:

  1. Open Modrinth settings.
  2. Go to the Java section.
  3. Find Java 25 and copy its path.
  4. Open the settings for your VoxelBoost instance.
  5. Go to Sync & Overrides.
  6. Find the Java option and enable the override.
  7. Paste the Java 25 path there.
  8. Save and launch the pack again.

If the crash still mentions Java 21, check if Modrinth is still using the old Java path.

Recommended shaders

For Voxy, I recommend Eclipse Unstable and Bliss Unstable. Both support Voxy.

Eclipse Unstable: https://github.com/xgreenspace/Eclipse-Shader-VoxySupportFixed

Bliss Unstable: https://github.com/X0nk/Bliss-Shader/tree/Unstable

- Shaders are not included in VoxelBoost.

VoxelBoost Experience — Recommended

This is the version I use myself and recommend the most.

It includes all the performance mods, along with some extras I like playing with:

  • Performance improvements
  • Faster chunk generation and pre-generation
  • Voxy long-distance rendering
  • Better sounds and ambience
  • Improved animations
  • QoL mods
  • UI and visual improvements
  • Some worldgen improvements

I wanted to keep Minecraft mostly the same, just make it run better and add a few nice extras.

VoxelBoost Essensial

Essensial keeps the main performance mods and removes most of the extras from Experience.

It focuses on:

  • FPS and rendering performance
  • Faster world generation
  • Faster chunk pre-generation
  • Lower simulation/rendering overhead
  • Voxy long-distance rendering

Pick Experience if you want the full pack with all the extras.

Pick Essensial if you mainly want better performance and prefer adding your own mods.

Experience = my full setup

Essensial = performance + Voxy + the basics
