🌍 WORLD OF FRACTURES
World of Fractures is a large-scale Forge 1.20.1 modpack built around one idea:
The world did not break. Its rules stopped agreeing with each other.
Impossible biomes sit side by side. Ruins stand intact next to ruins that were erased. Magic works far too easily. Something happened here, and the people who caused it left their paperwork behind.
You are not the chosen one. You are a Traveller who arrived long after the end, and the only story this pack has is the one you assemble.
📖 A Questbook That Actually Tells a Story
- 399 quests across 9 chapters
- 70 branches — take two, skip five; the main path never forces a speciality
- 27 lore fragments, revealed in an order that never spoils what comes next
- 23 secrets, several of which contradict each other on purpose
- Up to 21 quests open at once — a web, not a checklist
The story is told through shipping manifests, meeting minutes, a marginal note in a fourth volume, and a technician's four handwritten words. No prophecies, no destiny. An engineering decision that went wrong, and a very long paper trail.
| The Traveller believes… | Then discovers… | |
|---|---|---|
| I | he must survive | one word keeps recurring |
| II | a disaster destroyed the world | someone lived here, and measured everything |
| III | ruins are tombs | there are kitchens — and the destruction was selective |
| IV | he is inventing machinery | he is rediscovering it |
| V | he has mastered power | six generations built for a single worksite |
| VI | magic is a gift | there is no single law |
| VII | the Fracture created the monsters | some were sealed away before |
| VIII | they were reckless | they were warned. Forty-three times. |
| IX | the Fracture is the ending | it is the rescue |
⚙️ Create and the Mechanical Age
- Create 6.0 as the backbone, plus twelve addons — Steam 'n' Rails, Ore Excavation, Create Addition, Deco, Copycats, Encased, Slice and Dice, Hypertube, Vibrant Vaults, Mobile Packages, Railways Navigator, Bells and Whistles
- Tinkers' Construct for the foundry line, all the way to manyullyn
- Immersive Engineering and Mekanism for the industrial tier — fission, fusion, SPS, MekaSuit
- Refined Storage, Storage Drawers, Tom's Storage, Pipez, Flux Networks
Engineering is a narrative pillar, not a side activity: the deeper you automate, the more precisely you repeat the mistake that broke this world.
✨ Five Schools of Magic, Five Philosophies
Not five versions of the same thing. Five different answers to one question: how do you get the same result twice?
- Iron's Spellbooks — write the law down. Reproducible, and it plateaus.
- Botania — grow the power. Beautiful, immense, and it cannot be moved.
- Hexerei — do exactly what you were shown. Nobody knows why it works.
- Blood Magic — pay the price. Not evil; accountancy.
- Wizards Reborn — rebuild a lost theory from the objects it left behind.
Two schools are enough. Three can be ignored entirely. Magic opens early — herbs and flowers don't require a factory.
🌿 Skill Trees
Progression is shaped by Puffish Skills with the default skill trees: spend points, specialise, build a character out of what you actually do.
No class selection at spawn. Your history is written by your choices, not picked from a menu.
🧭 Exploration
- Terralith, Biomes O' Plenty, Regions Unexplored, Oh The Biomes We've Gone — impossible climates meeting along hard lines
- The full YUNG's suite, Moog's structures, Towns and Towers, Towers of the Wild, Dungeons Enhanced
- Better Archeology — brush, dig, and read what you find
- Exposure — photograph the ruins and build your own archive. There is a quest line for exactly that.
- Nature's Compass and Explorer's Compass arrive as early quest rewards, because hunting a specific biome should be an adventure, not a punishment
⚔️ Anomalies
Six categories of dangerous thing, and they do not share an origin:
- creatures born from the tears in the world
- ordinary animals whose bloodline drifted across a boundary
- ancient things already asleep before anyone arrived
- things deliberately sealed in — the doors lock from the outside
- entities tied to the edges of reality
- and one honest category: the ones nobody ever understood
L_Ender's Cataclysm (sixteen bosses), Alex's Caves, Aquamirae, Knight Quest, Legendary Creatures, Dungeons and Combat, Apotheosis.
🏰 Building and Living
- The complete Macaw's set — bridges, doors, windows, furniture, roofs, paths, fences, lights, stairs, trapdoors
- Chipped, Framed Blocks, Copycats, Domum Ornamentum, Handcrafted, Interiors, Refurbished Furniture, Supplementaries, Additional Lights
- Farmer's Delight and the full Let's Do series — Vinery, Brewery, Bakery, Meadow, Candlelight, Herbal Brews, Farm and Charm, Beach Party, Wildernature
- Productive Bees, Aquaculture, Butchery, Cooking for Blockheads
Chapter III is entirely about settling down, and it is where the story turns: you start recognising their houses because you have just built your own.
🌐 Multiplayer Ready
- Built for long-run survival servers
- FTB Teams and FTB Chunks configured
- Quest rewards are per-team by default
- Every player receives the quest book automatically on first join
- A trimmed server pack is available: client-only mods removed, every dependency verified
⚡ Performance
Embeddium, ModernFix, FerriteCore, Entity Culling, Krypton, Clumps, Fast Workbench, Better FPS Distance. Chunk pre-generation supported.

🧠 Tips
- Read the fragments. They are short on purpose, and they are the whole point.
- You are not meant to finish everything. Two magic schools, two endgame paths. The main line never requires a speciality.
- Some archives lie. One of them is provably wrong, and you can catch it yourself around Chapter V.
- Explore early. Chapter II opens as soon as you have iron.
- Built for a long playthrough. Take your time.
