About

Description

Zzyzx is primarily designed to be hosted on Family Friendly or community servers.

It has plenty of things to do and is meant to be medieval or low-tech themed.

The design philosophy:

1. Forestry, bees and genetics (for aquawyrm).  Mods that introduce their own bees and beekeeping will not be in the pack (Pam's HarvestCraft and Rustic, for example).  Which is a shame because Rustic has some great furniture models.

2. Must use only one power system.  RF is the preferred power type.

3. No "modern" space-style or computer cosmetic items if at all possible, mainly those that would fit into a low tech asthetic, such as Earthworks and Bibliocraft.  While Decocraft and Mr. Crayfish's Furniture mod are great, we don't need working toilets.  You can just RP that biology if it's that important to you.

4. We have DIMENSIONS so we don't need SPACE.  So no Galacticraft.

5. Sets of modules by the same author are preferred, as if we like one, the others were usually complimentary to our design pattern.

6. Not many "helper" style applications as they are usually visually intrusive.  No external mapping tools, no additional non-vanilla hud tools unless it streamlines the experience.

7. Staying close to the vanilla experience so that new players don't have to learn anything new.  That means no wands or command lines or other unusual methods for interacting with blocks.

8. Remembering that many people may have lower end computers and trying to keep the modpack lean in terms of memory usage and quantity of mods.  Quality is more important.
