Adopting a fox

# Pocket Foxes

Tame wild foxes and get a loyal companion that follows you around, sits when you tell it to, and digs up little treasures for you. A Fox Whistle calls all your foxes back to your side.

## Taming
Sneak up to a wild fox (they run away from players who aren't sneaking) and right-click it with sweet berries or glow berries. Each berry has a 1 in 3 chance to win the fox over. A tamed fox trusts you: it won't flee, it won't despawn, and it defends you in a fight.

## Your fox
- **Follows you** and teleports to you if it gets too far behind.
- **Sit or follow:** right-click with an empty hand to make it sit. It stays exactly where it is (no wandering, no sleeping, no digging) until you right-click it again.
- **Heals:** feed a hurt fox berries to heal it by 2 hearts.
- **Breeding:** breed tamed foxes with berries as usual. Their babies are tamed and belong to you from birth.
- **Brings you things:** if your fox is carrying an item in its mouth, it carries it to you and drops it at your feet.

## Digging for treasure
Every 5 to 10 minutes (the first dig comes after 1 to 2 minutes), while you are nearby and the fox is standing on diggable ground, it will dig its nose into the dirt and come up with something. It carries the find to you and puts it down at your feet.

What it finds depends on the ground it stands on:
- **Dirt, grass, podzol, mycelium, moss, mud, clay and gravel:** bones, flint, coal, sticks, clay balls, iron and gold nuggets, string, feathers, copper, amethyst shards, and rarely name tags, rabbit's feet, emeralds or diamonds.
- **Sand and red sand:** gold nuggets, bricks, clay balls, copper, pottery sherds, gold ingots, and rarely emeralds, diamonds or nautilus shells.
- **Snow:** snowballs, bones, feathers, coal, iron nuggets, lapis, rabbit hide and feet, amethyst shards, and rarely emeralds or diamonds.

## Fox Whistle
Craft it with a copper ingot, a string and sweet berries (shapeless). Right-click to call every one of your tamed foxes within 128 blocks (in the same dimension): they teleport next to you and stand up, even if they were sitting.

## For modpack and datapack makers
- Blocks foxes can dig in: block tag `pocketfoxes:diggable`.
- Loot tables: `pocketfoxes:gameplay/fox_dig/dirt`, `sand` and `snow` (loot type `minecraft:gift`). Override them to change the finds. Avoid food items there: a fox holding food will eat it.

## Requirements
Fabric Loader, Fabric API, Minecraft 26.3, Java 25. Works on servers; players don't need to install it on the client for the gameplay to work.
