About
Description
Smart, mode-aware inventory sorting that actually knows what you're doing.
Inventory Organizer sorts your inventory and picks your best gear — not just "a sword," the best sword you own, weighed by material, enchantments, and durability. It knows the difference between a Sword build, an Axe build, Mace, Spear Mace, Elytra Mace, UHC, Crystal, and Pot — and builds your hotbar differently for each one.
Features
Best-gear scoring, not just item type matching
- Armor is scored on real base stats (armor, toughness, knockback resistance) plus enchantments and durability — a bare netherite helmet correctly beats an unenchanted diamond one, and a heavily-enchanted diamond piece can still beat a bare netherite one, exactly like it should.
- Weapons, tools, and axes are scored the same way — base attack damage/mining efficiency plus enchantment weight, not enchantments alone.
- Curse of Binding items are hard-rejected from auto-equip. Curse of Vanishing rejection is a toggle.
Mode-aware hotbar templates
- 8 built-in PvP modes (Sword, Axe, Mace, Spear Mace, Elytra Mace, UHC, Crystal, Pot) plus a fully custom mode.
- Each mode has its own editable 9-slot hotbar template — assign a role (Sword, Spear, Totem, Ender Pearl, Splash Potion, Shield, Elytra, Arrow, and 15+ more) to any slot, including duplicate roles across slots.
- Auto-detects which mode fits your current inventory and applies it, in a hierarchy order you control — or force a specific mode with one click.
- Per-mode preferences: Elytra vs. chestplate in your chest slot, Totem vs. Shield in your offhand.
Enchantment requirements
- Gate a mode behind a specific enchantment on a specific role — e.g. Spear Mace won't auto-apply (or even let you force it) unless your Spear actually has Lunge. No more getting handed an un-enchanted spear because a mode only checked "do you own a spear."
Real, network-safe clicks
- Every move is a genuine simulated click (pickup/place/swap), tick-paced — not a raw slot mutation. Behaves like a real player interacting with their inventory, so it works cleanly with anti-cheat and vanilla-compatible servers.
Instant per-role quick-equip keybinds
- Bind any role to a key. Press it to swap your best item of that role into your current hotbar slot; press again on that same slot to undo. Fully rebindable, unbound by default.
One-click sort buttons in your inventory screen
- A small settings button, a "sort inventory only" button, and a "full sort" button (gear + hotbar) sit right in your inventory screen.
- Hover for a row of one-click mode buttons — jump straight to Sword, Axe, Mace, or any mode you've configured.
Quality-of-life toggles
- Auto-sort on open, sound on complete, block sorting while you're in combat, auto-refill hotbar stacks in the background, categorize your hotbar too (not just your main inventory), verbose chat summaries, and a debug-scoring mode that logs every candidate item's score to chat.
How it works
Everything lives in one settings screen (the gear-icon button in your inventory): Roles for quick-equip keybinds, Presets for saving/loading keybind setups, Modes for editing each mode's hotbar template and requirements, and QoL for the toggles above.
Compatibility
- Client-side only — no server install needed, works on any server.
- Minecraft 26.2, Fabric Loader, requires Fabric API.
Notes
This mod moves items via real simulated clicks, the same way a player would — it never mutates inventory slots directly, so it stays consistent with servers that validate container interactions.
