Description
Advanced UI Scaling
Continuous GUI scaling for Minecraft Fabric, based on Qendolin/BetterUIScale.
Installation
This mod runs requires the exact version of the game the .jar says. You also need to install the Fabric Loader and you need the Fabric API mod. Please note that the mod is client-side only, it will not work on servers.
Controls
- Video Settings: drag the GUI Scale slider for continuous, immediate scaling.
- GUI Scale: Auto: the adjacent button enables automatic scaling. It follows framebuffer dimensions, including fractional maxima, while preserving a minimum GUI size of 320 × 240 (unless the physical window itself is smaller).
- Fine adjustment: arrow keys or mouse wheel change the factor by 1 percentage point. Hold Shift for 0.1 percentage points. Control + wheel also works anywhere in Video Settings. Right-click the slider to restore Auto.
- Mod Menu → Advanced UI Scaling: enter an exact percentage, press Apply or Enter, and adjust font smoothing from 0–200%.
- In the vanilla settings, changes are saved on release, keyboard/scroll adjustment, leaving settings and shutdown. Resizing a window temporarily clamps the applied factor without losing the preferred value.
Vanilla live dragging uses the physical track bounds captured at mouse-down. This keeps input stable while the surrounding screen changes size; moving or resizing the slider cannot feed back into its value.
Sodium
The native General → GUI Scale row has fixed columns for the always-visible continuous slider, a whole-number percentage and Auto. Auto uses light text and a subtle underline when selected.
Dragging, arrow keys, Ctrl + wheel, reset and Auto only change the pending setting. The interface stays at its current scale until Sodium's Apply is clicked. Apply resizes the interface and saves the exact selected value. Undo and Escape discard changes without resizing anything. An applied Auto setting follows later window size changes.
Search, scroll position and focus are preserved when Apply or a window resize rebuilds the menu. Sodium is optional and is not bundled into this mod. The vanilla settings keep their live scaling behavior.
