Description
Air Tactical Arsenal WarZone
Unofficial fork of Air Tactical Arsenal by Synarsis, made by lilDorito for the WarZone milsim modpack.
⚠ Non-commercial use only. Licensed under the original Air Tactical Arsenal License (included in the jar and on GitHub): personal play and non-commercial servers only. No paid ranks, paid access, ads or other monetization. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Synarsis.
Forge 1.20.1 mod that adds tactical UAVs (Shahed-136, Orlan-10), Iskander-M ballistic missiles, an air defense radar and alert sirens. Launch strikes from tablets and terminals, plan drone routes on a terrain map, fly an FPV recon drone and track everything on radar.
Why this fork
Upstream ATA works well on its own, but my milsim pack runs SuperbWarfare and AshVehicles, and ATA needed changes to fit in. Radar and air-to-air had to work with those mods, damage needed balancing, the mod needed to be English-first, and bugs found while testing needed fixing.
What's different
Radar
- Detects all SuperbWarfare and addon aircraft, including every AshVehicles plane and helicopter
- Target tags: SHD (Shahed), BAL (Iskander), ORL (Orlan), PLN, HEL, UAV, with colours matching the legend
- Uses the model and hitbox of SuperbWarfare's FuMO 25 radar, with a spinning dish (when SBW is installed)
- Needs open sky over the 5×5 area around it, otherwise it shows WEAK SIGNAL
- Tracks the Iskander for its whole flight; configurable horizon and entity lists; drops itself when mined
- Servers can replace the biome map with a plain dark background (
radarDarkBackground = trueinata-common.toml) - Radar and Shahed/Orlan route maps show the real terrain (top blocks with hill shading) instead of biome colours
- One-time whole-map scan with
/ata terrain scan(default 10000×10000 around 0, 0); maps update every few minutes with chunks loaded around players - Servers can replace the radar map with a plain dark background (
radarDarkBackground = true)
Air-to-air
- AshVehicles jets can see and lock Shaheds and Orlans with AAM-4, but never the Iskander
Damage and destruction
- No more ×3.5 damage against vehicles; lower explosion damage that you can change in the config
- Round craters for the Iskander and Shahed, with air bursts digging into the ground below; claim and protection mods still apply
Drones
- Max route length can be set in the config (default 10,000 blocks) and is checked by the server
- Orlan flight time can be set in the config (default 30 min)
- Shaheds can be shot down with SuperbWarfare guns as well as TacZ
Sound
- Engine and countdown sounds recover when Minecraft drops them, and only reach players in the same dimension
- The siren stops when its redstone signal turns off and loops cleanly
- Each Shahed randomly gets one of two engine sounds (second one by Kalitovskiy).
Language and UI
- English by default; Russian and Ukrainian can be chosen per player (
/atalang), and servers can force English - All hard-coded Russian text removed
- Screens scale down to fit at large GUI scales; HUD and radar overlaps fixed
Fixes
- Fixed a broken pickaxe tag that could break pickaxe mining for other blocks in a pack
- Removed dead features, config options and assets; version and metadata cleaned up
- Fixed a server crash when watching through an Orlan camera near marker entities (datapacks / map setups)
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge 47.2+
- GeckoLib 4.4.9+
- Optional: SuperbWarfare, AshVehicles, TacZ, Create
Mod id is ata, the same as the original, so it replaces Air Tactical Arsenal. Don't install both. Server and clients must run the same version.
Server setup (terrain maps)
Pregenerate your world (e.g. with Chunky mod), then run once as op:
/ata terrain scan: scans a 10000×10000 square around 0, 0/ata terrain scan <size> [x z]: custom size / centre/ata terrain status/cancel/rescan
The scan runs in the background, and the result is saved in the world folder (world/ata_map/), so it travels with the world. Options in ata-common.toml -> [Radar]: mapRefreshMinutes, mapReadSavedChunks, radarDarkBackground.

Compatibility
One jar works with all of these. It detects what is installed and adapts:
| Mod | Supported versions |
|---|---|
| SuperbWarfare | 0.8.7.1, 0.8.8 (incl. hotfix / final), 0.8.9 (snapshot / release / final), 0.8.9.1, 0.8.9.2 |
| AshVehicles | 4.2, 4.3, 4.5, 4.6 |
- The radar uses SBW's FuMO 25 model wherever your SBW version keeps it. If a future SBW version changes it, the radar falls back to the original ATA model instead of crashing.
- SBW and AshVehicles aircraft show on the radar as PLN / HEL / UAV on every supported version.
- Shahed and Orlan can be locked by SBW seekers and AshVehicles missiles; the Iskander never can.
All of these mods are optional. ATA WarZone runs fine on its own (GeckoLib is required).
