Any Boss Tameable Key

One key. Any boss. Any mod.

Right-click any boss — a vanilla Wither, Warden or Ender Dragon, a Cataclysm leviathan, a Mowzie's Mobs frostmaw, or a boss from a mod this key has never even heard of — and it becomes yours.

🔑 How to get the key

There are two ways:

1. Craft it

Place the three items diagonally across the crafting table:

• Top-right: Nether Star
• Centre: Block of Gold
• Bottom-left: Echo Shard

(On Minecraft 1.18.2 — where echo shards don't exist yet — use an Eye of Ender instead of the Echo Shard.)

2. Call it

Type this in chat:

It's my pleasure to have the key

A rift of light opens in the sky, the key bursts out, flies a glowing loop around you, then dives down and lands right in your hand. Works in survival. 20-second cooldown per player. Capitals and punctuation don't matter.

🐉 How to use it

• Bind a boss: right-click it with the key. Too big or too high to reach? Aim at it and use the key in the air (up to 48 blocks).
• Stay / Follow: right-click your boss with the key again.
• Set it free: sneak + right-click your boss.
• Tie it to a spot: right-click any creature with the key, then sneak + right-click a block — a glowing golden rope holds it there. Sneak + right-click the same block to untie.

🛡️ What your boss does

• Follows you everywhere — and teleports to your side if it falls too far behind
• Fights for you: attacks whatever hurts you, and whatever you attack
• Guards you from hostile mobs closing in
• Never turns on you — its own attacks, explosions and projectiles can't hurt you or your other pets
• You can't hurt it by accident either
• Its boss health bar is hidden once it's yours

• /bosskey list — all your bound bosses, their health and distance
• /bosskey call — every boss of yours comes to you
• /bosskey stay / /bosskey follow — order all your bosses at once
• /bosskey release all — set every boss free
• /bosskey bind <targets> — (operators) bind any mobs directly

⚙️ Config

config/anybosstameablekey-common.toml — bosses-only mode (off by default: the key works on any mob), use up the key on bind, require the boss to be weakened first (and how much), heal on bind, hide boss bars, protect bosses from their owner, follow-teleport distance, and a blacklist of mobs the key refuses.

✅ Works with every mod

The key doesn't need to know a mod to work with it — it uses only what every mob in the game has in common, so it tames bosses from mods that don't even exist yet. No dependencies.
