What is this?

An unofficial 1.20.1 Forge port of the quantum subsystem from GT-Simple-Wireless-Network (a GTNH mod for 1.7.10), maintained independently as an AE2 addon. It brings ME Quantum Terminals, Quantum Nodes and quantized controller management to modern AE2 — no GregTech dependency.

⚠️ This is an alpha build of an unofficial port. Always refer to the upstream Wiki for the original mechanics.

Features

• ME Quantum Terminal (handheld) — Right-click a formed, powered ME Controller to quantize the whole structure and bind it. Quantization restricts the controller's connection faces to an "energy whitelist" (fellow controllers, energy cells, energy acceptors, quartz fiber), preventing unwanted cable/machine connections at the source.
• Quantum Node — Place it by right-clicking any block with a bound terminal. The node establishes a directionless direct connection to the anchor controller with 32-channel (DENSE) capacity, letting adjacent AE2 devices join the network without cable distance limits. Cross-dimensional bridging is supported; nodes consume no channels themselves.
• Online/Offline visuals — Online nodes play an animated core texture and extend connection arms toward real connections; offline nodes show a static dark core. State persists with the world.
• Overload protection — When channels brought in by Quantum Nodes exceed the controller structure capacity, a 3-minute countdown warning starts (announced at 2 min / 1 min / 10 s) and is cancelled if channels recover; if still overloaded, the entire controller structure detonates (TNT-level explosion). A chat warning is sent to the node placer at the 95% threshold.
• Neutron Self-Powered ME Controller (new in this port) — Shapeless craft: Creative Energy Cell + ME Controller. Once placed in a network, the network never needs energy again (infinite supply, using the same values as AE2's official creative energy cell). It can also be quantized by the terminal.

Installation

Drop applied-energistics-quantization-2.0.0-alpha.1.jar into your mods/ folder. Items are available in the creative tab or via crafting.

Notes

• Alpha software — interfaces and values may change; some edge cases are still being polished.
• Unofficial port — not affiliated with the original mod's team; the original mod is a 1.7.10 GTNH mod by MIAOKATZE (see the upstream repository).
• Quantum Nodes bridge only while the anchor controller is quantized and its chunk is loaded; nodes drop nothing and can only be removed by Shift+right-clicking with the terminal.
• Performance-focused: node maintenance uses phased reconnect scheduling, exponential backoff and a per-tick global connect budget to avoid reconnect storms on chunk reloads.
