Description

arsenal of blades
**arsenal of blades** turns Minecraft melee into a real weapon system. Instead of one generic sword, you get **six distinct weapon classes** — each in **all seven tiers** (wood, stone, copper, iron, gold, diamond, netherite) — and every class plays differently: its own speed, reach, armor behaviour, critical-hit rule, and a signature **active skill** bound to a dedicated key (default **R**).
That's **42 craftable weapons**, a weapon-vs-armor rock-paper-scissors, and a rare lifesteal easter egg hidden in the most dangerous structures.
---
## ⚔️ The Six Weapon Classes
| Class | Identity | Skill (key **R**) |
|---|---|---|
| **Greatsword** | Slow, huge hits, sweeps a wide arc, **cleaves armor**, 2× crits — **two-handed (no shield)** | **Hold R** to charge a smashing AoE; the longer the charge, the harder it hits |
| **Longsword** | Balanced "knight's sword", slight extra reach, sweeps | **Parry** — open a brief window; a frontal hit is fully negated and the attacker is countered |
| **Sabre** | Agile slasher, sweeps, **hits harder while moving fast** (sprinting or mounted) | **Charge Slash** — dash forward and cleave everything in front |
| **Rapier** | Extremely fast, high single hits, **no crits, poor armor penetration** | **Lunge** — dart to the nearest enemy with a piercing strike |
| **Estoc** | Precise thruster, **best armor penetration**, extra reach, keeps crits | **Armor Sunder** — a thrust that lowers the target's armor for a few seconds |
| **Dagger** | Fastest and cheapest, short reach, weak crits | **Shadowstep** — blink behind the nearest foe and backstab |
## 🛡️ Weapon vs Armor
Armor isn't a flat wall anymore. Each class interacts with it differently:
- **Greatsword / Estoc** punch through armor (great against heavily-armored foes).
- **Rapier** glances off armor (strong vs the unarmored, weak vs tanks).
- Others are neutral — pick the right tool for the fight.
## 🔧 Crafting, Repair & Progression
- Every class has its own recipe shape and is crafted from its tier's material.
- Full vanilla repair support — anvil + material, Mending, Unbreaking, grindstone.
- **Netherite weapons are smithing-table upgrades** (diamond version + Netherite Upgrade Template + netherite ingot), just like vanilla gear.
- A worn-down weapon (below 30% durability) hits a little softer — keep your blade maintained.
- Hover any weapon and **hold [Shift]** to read its full mechanics.
## 🧭 Finding Weapons
- Found in structure chests: stone/iron weapons in common structures (shipwrecks, dungeons, mineshafts, villages, outposts); diamond weapons in rarer ones (strongholds, end cities, ancient cities, trial chamber vaults...).
- **Weaponsmith villagers** trade them, tiered by their level.
## 🩸 Easter Egg: the Vampiric Sword
A cursed, blood-drinking blade that **heals you for part of the damage you deal**, crits hard, and grants **Night Vision** while held. It **cannot be crafted, traded, or repaired**, and is found **only** in Woodland Mansions, Strongholds, Ancient Cities, and Trial Chamber vaults — roughly one per structure, if you're lucky.
---
## 📦 Requirements
- **Minecraft 1.21.11**
- **Fabric Loader** 0.19.3+
- **Fabric API** (required)
- **Java 21**
> Fabric only. A dedicated **"More Swords"** creative tab holds every weapon.
