Description

Assorted Machines

Adds two machines for getting more out of your ores. The grinding mill breaks an ore down into two dusts, so one ore gives you two ingots. The alloy forge melts dusts together into bronze, electrum, invar and steel. Each machine comes in four tiers, and every tier works faster than the last.

An expert grinding mill turning raw iron into two iron dusts each

Features

  • The grinding mill needs an iron pickaxe or better in its tool slot to break the ores open. A multitool from Assorted Multitools of iron or better works too. Everything it grinds wears the tool down a little.
  • Iron, gold and copper ore grind into two dusts each. Diamond, emerald, coal, redstone, lapis and quartz ores give you extra too.
  • Ingots and raw ore grind into dust as well, and every dust smelts back into an ingot.
  • The alloy forge takes two inputs and turns them into an alloy. Steel is made from coal and iron dust, so you can start on it right away.
  • Bronze, electrum and invar need tin, silver and nickel dust from Assorted Ores or another mod that adds them.
  • Both machines burn the same fuel as a furnace.
  • The tiers are basic, intermediate, advanced and expert. The expert machines run four times as fast as the basic ones.
  • Hoppers can feed the machines from the top and sides and pull the results out from underneath.
  • Both machines have a recipe book, and JEI shows their recipes.
  • Alloys come with ingots, nuggets, dusts, gears and storage blocks. Iron, gold and copper get a dust and a gear too.

Getting started

Every machine is built around a machine core, and each tier is an upgrade of the one before it. The advanced and expert tiers need silver, nickel and platinum from a mod like Assorted Ores.

Config

These are in the assortedmachines-common config file.

  • general.grindingMillHasBreakSound plays the block breaking sound each time the grinding mill grinds something. On by default.

Updating from Assorted Core 10.x

Worlds made with Assorted Core 10.x keep everything when you switch to this mod. Don't install it beside Assorted Core 10.x.
