Description
New Update - Backported Wool Stairs & Slabs is now supported for popular versions such as 1.20.1 Forge, various Fabric versions such as 1.21.10, 1.21.9 and 1.21.8 and NeoForge versions such as 1.21.1!
What is Backported Wool Stairs & Slabs and why does it exist?
In 26.3, Mojang Studios officially added support for wool stairs and slabs inside Minecraft. However, this leaves players on older versions stuck, as they are likely unable to update their entire modpacks or setups just to access such a simple feature. I created this mod, Backported Wool Stairs & Slabs, so you can enjoy modern Minecraft features like this one without the hassle of updating dozens or hundreds of mods.

What are the features of Backported Wool Stairs & Slabs?
Backported Wool Stairs & Slabs aims to be as close to the vanilla experience as possible, offering the exact same content. All crafting recipes, dyeing, creative tab placements, and block models are designed to be identical to vanilla Minecraft. This also makes the mod incredibly flexible; since it uses vanilla textures, any resource packs that affect wool will automatically affect the wool stairs and slabs as well.
Will Backported Wool Stairs & Slabs be updated?
Yes, Backported Wool Stairs & Slabs will be updated for as many older versions as possible across Fabric, Quilt (Which Fabric mods natively support) NeoForge, and Forge. For now, development will focus on versions closer to 26.3, and updates will gradually work their way down to popular legacy versions such as 1.8.9.
(Please note that if you are using the Fabric version of the mod on Quilt, you will need the Quilted Fabric API mod.)
FAQ and Answers:
What do I do if the mod isn't working properly?
1. Check your modloader and Minecraft version. Make sure they match up and that you download the correct mod version.
2. If your modloader and Minecraft versions are correct, ensure you have the required Java versions installed and check for any conflicting mods.
3. If all else fails, you can contact me directly in the comments section on the CurseForge mod page. Providing your PC specs or specific error messages will help me troubleshoot.
Can I use this mod in modpacks?
Yes, you can use this mod inside your modpacks. No permission, credit, or action is needed, you are free to use it in any modpack you wish without credit, although credit is appreciated.
I've requested a version. How long will it take to be added?
If you've requested a Minecraft version to be added, it is highly varable to changes and may take a long time. It depends on priority, easy of porting, and demand.
Why are Wool Stairs not breaking in Survival Mode?
This is a specific bug that was addressed, and older versions of the mod have been replaced with newer ones. Simply update the mod with current versions to fix this.
Why is this mod not going to be updated for 26.3+ ?
Updating this mod to 26.3+ is completely useless and will just cause duplicates and a lot of issues. If you are playing on 26.3+, you simply do not need this mod. Wool Stairs & Slabs are already added in 26.3 and
above.

Recent News - Most older versions of the mod have been replaced due to a bug that causes Wool Stairs to be completely unbreakable in Survival Mode.
