⚔️ Boss Balancer: Brutal Dynamic Difficulty

Boss Balancer is a smart, 100% Server-Side utility mod designed to fix a common issue in multiplayer servers: bosses becoming a joke when fought by multiple players... or by overpowered solo "rushers".

This mod dynamically scales the health and damage of bosses (and optionally, normal mobs) based on the number of players nearby, ensuring every encounter remains a brutal and epic challenge!

✨ Key Features

  • 🛡️ 100% Server-Side: Your players do NOT need to install this mod on their clients! Simply drop it into your server's mods folder, and it works instantly.
  • 🤝 Universal Compatibility: It automatically detects bosses from ANY mod (and Vanilla bosses like the Wither and Ender Dragon) based on their maximum health. No configuration required!
  • 🏃 Anti-Rusher System: Even if a player tries to solo a boss, the mod treats 1 player as if there were 2. This guarantees a minimum brutal challenge (+150% Health and +100% Damage) from the very start.
  • ♾️ Bypassing the 1024 HP Limit: Minecraft has a hardcoded max health limit of 1024. Boss Balancer bypasses this with an innovative "Simulated Resistance" system. If a boss needs 2048 HP, their health caps at 1024, but they take 50% less damage to perfectly simulate the exact effective health, without breaking the game.
  • 📈 Dynamic Scaling (Up to 20x!): Health and damage scale up for each additional player in the detection radius. When players leave or die, the difficulty dynamically readjusts in real-time.
  • ⚙️ Highly Configurable: Everything is tweakable in the bossbalancer.json config file or via in-game commands.

🎮 In-Game Commands

As an admin, you can control the mod on the fly using the /bossbalancer command! No server restarts required.

  • /bossbalancer status - Shows the current scaling settings and multipliers.
  • /bossbalancer toggle - Enables or disables the boss scaling completely.
  • /bossbalancer config <radius> <scalingFactor> <maxMultiplier> - Adjusts the core scaling parameters instantly.
  • /bossbalancer blacklist add/remove/list <entity_id> - Easily manage which entities should be ignored by the scaling system.
  • /bossbalancer reload - Reloads the configuration file from disk.
  • /bossbalancer debug <true/false> - Enables debug mode to print scaling info to the chat.

The mod also includes a /bossbalancer mobs subcommand to configure the optional scaling for normal mobs!

⚙️ How it works

By default, any entity with more than 200 Max HP (or 100 HP for non-standard monsters) is automatically considered a boss. The mod counts how many players are nearby when the boss spawns or during combat, and applies the multipliers transparently in the background using Minecraft's native attribute system.
