Adds ancient eggs deep beneath the earth. If you look hard enough, you might find their source too...

Description

Beneath the Earth

Beneath the Earth adds a fun new way to obtain Spawn Eggs for mobs in your world or modpack.

Hidden deep underground are mysterious Ancient Eggs containing random Spawn Eggs. Mine them, bring them home, and submerge them in water to slowly crack them open and reveal what is trapped inside.

Dig deep enough and you may discover a Mother Nest, a buried chamber filled with Ancient Eggs. But be careful: these nests are guarded by The Mother, a massive egg-laying spider that attacks anything that moves.

Defeat her and claim the eggs for yourself, or capture her and harvest the eggs she lays over time.

Just watch out.

She bites.

Features

Ancient Egg

Ancient Eggs are buried deep underground and contain hidden Spawn Eggs.

They can be mined and picked up with either a pickaxe or a shovel. When submerged in water for a short time, the egg cracks open and releases the Spawn Egg trapped inside.

Ancient Eggs do not reveal what they contain until opened.

On startup, the mod scans and registers available Spawn Eggs as possible results, meaning mods that add their own Spawn Eggs should be compatible.

Ancient Egg

Eternity Shard

The Eternity Shard is a reusable item that prevents mobs from despawning.

Right-click a mob with an Eternity Shard to mark it as persistent. By default, it can be used 20 times, though this can be adjusted in the config.

Eternity Shards can be crafted, or rarely found as loot in:

  • Ancient Cities
  • End Cities

Eternity Shard Recipe

The Mother

The Mother is a large, highly aggressive spider mob.

She attacks nearby mobs and prioritizes players. She naturally spawns in underground Mother Nests, but can also be obtained from Ancient Eggs like any other mob with a Spawn Egg.

Over time, The Mother lays Ancient Eggs. Her egg-laying frequency can be adjusted in the config.

Modpack Compatibility

Beneath the Earth is designed with modpacks in mind.

Any mod that adds standard Spawn Eggs should have those Spawn Eggs automatically included as possible Ancient Egg results.
