Description
Better Party X Xaero's World Map
Keep your party visible on the world map while every player stays in control of their own display.
Better Party X Xaero's World Map connects the party system from Better Party with the fullscreen map from Xaero's World Map.
The party admin decides whether party members may be displayed on the map, while every player independently chooses how those members appear on their own client: as a player head, a colored dot, or not at all.
✨ Main Features
- Displays members of your current Better Party on Xaero's fullscreen world map
- Gives the party admin control over map visibility for the entire party
- Lets every player choose between Head, Dot, and Off
- Keeps each player's marker preference completely client-side
- Shares map positions only with members of the same Better Party
- Stops sharing party positions when the party admin disables map visibility
- Works independently from Better Party's locator setting
🗺️ How the Map Integration Works
Better Party remains the authoritative source for party membership and administration.
- Players create and manage their party through Better Party.
- The party admin enables or disables party-member visibility on the world map.
- When enabled, the server shares positions only between members of the same party.
- Xaero's World Map displays those members using the marker style selected by the local player.
The party-admin setting always has priority over personal client settings.
If the party admin disables map visibility, no party-member markers are displayed, regardless of the marker style selected by individual players.
🎛️ Visibility and Marker Controls
| Setting | Result |
|---|---|
| Admin: Map visibility enabled | Party members may be displayed on each party member's map |
| Admin: Map visibility disabled | Party members are hidden for the entire party |
| Client: Head | Party members appear as player-head markers |
| Client: Dot | Party members appear as colored dots |
| Client: Off | Party-member markers are hidden on that client |
Personal marker settings affect only the local client. Selecting Off does not hide party members on another player's map.
📍 No Locator Dependency
This add-on does not use Better Party's locator setting.
- The locator is not checked
- The locator is not counted
- The locator is not required
- Map visibility is controlled only by the add-on's party-admin setting
- Marker style is controlled only by each player's client setting
This keeps the add-on focused on one purpose: displaying Better Party members on Xaero's World Map.
🔒 Party Privacy
Party positions are handled only for the active Better Party group.
- Players outside the party do not receive the party's map positions
- Position sharing stops when the party admin disables map visibility
- Client marker preferences remain local to each player
- Better Party remains unchanged and authoritative
