Makes early game progression slightly more difficult
Does not follow a specific thematic focus apart from vanilla Minecraft.
Includes a large focus on traversing worlds with enhanced world generation, structures, dungeons, and more for players to find unique loot.
Centers on surviving in harsh conditions, managing resources, and fending off PvE threats.
Adds new ores or other raw resources.
Includes quality of life improvements and small tweaks to enhance and customize gameplay.
Features a progression system with stages or gates that must be unlocked.
Forge is a popular mod loader for versions 1.1+ of Minecraft.

BETTER PROGRESSION
This mod is intended to slightly draw out Minecraft's early game by making some simple processes slightly harder. Feel free to use this in modpacks and YouTube videos!
HOW THE MOD WORKS:
_________________________
Goal #1: Obtain a crafting table
Mine many logs, which drop sticks unless broken with an axe.
Craft four sticks into a bundle of sticks.
Craft four bundles of sticks into bundled planks.
Craft four bundled planks into a crafting table.
________________________________
Goal #2: Obtain wooden and stone tools
Wooden tools are now crafted with bundles of sticks instead of planks.
Stone and cobblestone, when mined with a wooden pickaxe, drop 1-2 rocks.
Craft nine rocks into cobblestone.
Stone tools can be crafted with stone only, meaning cobblestone has to be smelted.
Craft eight cobblestone into a furnace.
Obtain more cobblestone and smelt it.
The resulting stone can be used to make stone tools!
Stone and cobblestone, when mined with a stone pickaxe, drop 3-4 rocks.
____________________
Goal #3: Obtain iron tools
Iron ore drops 1-2 lumps of iron.
Four lumps of iron can be crafted into raw iron.
When raw iron is smelted in a furnace, the iron output is normal.
When raw iron is smelted in a blast furnace, the iron output is doubled.
This process also applies to gold.
Stone and cobblestone, when mined with an iron pickaxe or better, drop themselves.
