Should be used in most Survival Packs

Have played this mod alot, and it does exactly what it says it does

Key parts i loved:

  • The early game is much more complicated with this mod, being perfect for a survival pack
  • compatible with alot of other mods such as dynamic trees (was not sure this would work, thought that it only used the vanilla tools at the time)
  • The gameplay is nice due to still having a small layer of simplicity that adds a way for newer players to figure it out

A few things to keep in mind for pack devs using this mod:

- Using this mod may require that you make quests specifically for the new features added by this, some players may not get it as soon as they start
- Specify within the quests i mentioned: What materials are usually needed, and How to get said materials
- The new saws may make progression slower, take this into mind if creating a pack with faster progression

Overview

Early game is pretty much non-existent in Minecraft. Punch a tree, craft a few items, done! This mod creates a very early game (first few nights) progression that leads directly into Tinkers' Construct tool making. Adds a progression into a progression into armor making as well! (Armor progression requires Constructs' Armory in 1.12.2),

Major Features in 1.19.2+

  • Adds Tinkers' Construct Knife for crafting (And a very bad weapon in a pinch)
  • Adds Tinkers' Construct Saw for crafting

Requires Survivalist Essentials Mod

Previous functionality moved in 1.19.2+:

  • Vanilla and vanilla-like tools and weapons don't work for players, but are usable by NPCs and craftable for recipes.
  • All tool progression is based around Tinkers' Construct tools and weapons.
  • The only way to make wood planks is with a saw.
  • A proper harvest tool must be used. Works correctly, and configurable!
  • Crude tools are necessary to create items needed for crafting Tinkers' tools.

For 1.12.2 ONLY. Please don't watch this and try doing stuff in 1.18.2. Just make the book in 1.18.2 and RTFM.

Anyone interested in contributing with testing or feature planning, please message me. If messaging me after not bothering to read any of the description or read the in-game book, I'm just going to delete the message. I am interested in player interaction. Also, all requests whining about the tool enforcement mechanic ... literally, the purpose of the mod is Tinkers' Construct immersion. If you don't understand that, please just move along to some other mods that will better fit your gameplay style.

Overview

Major Features

    • Saw is a new item introduced that has a "Crude" version and an advanced Tinkers' version.
    • A proper harvest tool must be used. Works correctly, and configurable!
    • Crude tools are necessary to create items needed for crafting Tinkers' tools.
    • Should not conflict with major mods
    • Modpack friendly

Gameplay Features

  • Gameplay
    • A correct tool must be used given the block type. Failure is an option.
      • Incorrect tool will make harvesting really slow.
      • All tools and weapons in non-whitelisted mods are rendered ineffective.
      • If enabled, all non-whitelisted armor mods and items are disabled.
      • Planks and sticks are no longer craftable without a tool component. See Crude Saw/Saw.
    • Special Drops
      • Sticks from leaves. (Better drop rate when using a knife)
      • Rocks from rock piles. (No tool required)
      • Plant fiber from grass. (Only if using a knife)
      • Flint shards from whacking rocks on stone.
    • WorldGen
      • Adds rock piles throughout the world. (Generation rate configurable)
