# BetterMCInventory

BetterMCInventory is a quality-of-life inventory and crafting mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 using Fabric.

It adds compact inventory controls without enlarging the vanilla survival inventory GUI.

## Features

- Sort the player inventory with the S button.
- Sort supported containers and the player inventory separately.
- Ctrl + Shift-click an item to transfer all matching stacks.
- Search inventory items by name or identifier, such as `minecraft:stone`.
- Matching items are highlighted while other slots are darkened.
- Delete held items with the Trash button.
- Restore deleted items for up to 30 seconds.
- Stores up to nine recently deleted stacks.
- Pin a selected vanilla recipe with the P button.
- Display required recipe materials in the top-right HUD.
- Material counts show owned and required amounts.
- Supports ingredient alternatives defined by tags.
- Supports the Creative Inventory tab with compact Search, Trash, Sort and Pin controls.
- Optional JEI integration: hover a supported recipe in JEI and press P to pin it.

## Requirements

- Minecraft 1.20.1
- Fabric Loader 0.15.11 or newer
- Fabric API
- Java 17

JEI is optional and is only required for JEI recipe pinning.

## Installation

1. Install Fabric Loader for Minecraft 1.20.1.
2. Install Fabric API.
3. Place Better Inventory in the `mods` folder.
4. Install JEI only if you want JEI recipe pinning.

## Multiplayer

For single-player, install the mod and Fabric API in the client profile.

For multiplayer sorting and Trash functions, install Better Inventory and Fabric API on both the client and server.

## JEI limitations

Minecraft-registered crafting, smelting and similar recipes can be pinned from JEI. JEI-only display recipes that are not registered Minecraft recipes cannot be pinned.
