Description
Blindspot
Blindspot is a lightweight, client-side Fabric mod that alerts you when nearby players are outside your current field of view.
Instead of displaying a radar or minimap, Blindspot uses small directional arrows near the edge of the screen. Each indicator includes the detected player’s face, making it easier to understand who is outside your view and approximately where they are.
Features
- Detects nearby players outside your horizontal field of view
- Displays directional indicators for left, right, behind-left, and behind-right
- Shows the detected player’s cached skin face beside the indicator
- Adjusts indicator opacity based on distance
- Supports multiple nearby players
- Separates overlapping indicators for readability
- Updates dynamically as players move or the camera rotates
- Accounts for the configured Minecraft FOV and dynamic FOV effects
- Automatically hides indicators when players enter your field of view
- Configurable toggle keybind
- No server-side component or custom networking
Keybind
Press N to enable or disable Blindspot.
The keybind can be changed under:
Options → Controls → Key Binds → Blindspot
The current state is displayed above the hotbar without adding messages to chat history.
Detection Range
Blindspot detects client-known players within 64 blocks.
It ignores:
- The local player
- Dead players
- Spectators
- Players beyond the detection range
- Players that are already inside the horizontal field of view
Blindspot only uses player entities already available to the vanilla Minecraft client. It cannot detect hidden, unloaded, or otherwise unknown players.
