Description
Bloodlines
A race and bloodline system for Forge 1.20.1. Every player chooses a bloodline, and every bloodline comes with its own stat profile (health, speed, damage, luck, and more), a primary and secondary active ability, and — where it fits the race — real cosmetic changes: tails, wings, horns, ears, and body size.
Every bloodline has a class — Tank, Attack, Movement, or Support — describing its actual role in a fight, with several bloodlines leaning into two at once. This isn't a power ranking or an unlock requirement: every race below is selectable from the moment you start.
Human — balanced and versatile, the baseline every other bloodline is measured against
Dwarf — short, stout masters of stone and tunnel, unmatched underground
Faerie — small, winged, and touched by old magic — true flight, though even Faerie wings tire
Shadow Goblin — creatures of shadow and stealth, quick of hand and quicker to vanish
Beastfolk — animal-blooded, swift and strong, with a fur tail and cat ears
Elf — old magical bloodlines of forest and moonlight, deadly with a bow
Wraith — a restless spirit bound to this world, able to phase straight through walls, and come in and out of wraith form
Revenant — a corpse that wouldn't stay in the ground, commanding what remains of the dead
Draconic — scaled and fireproof, born of old dragon blood, with real flight
Goliath — ancient giants who shrug off wounds that would kill anyone else
Merfolk — sea-born and graceful in the depths, with a real mermaid tail while swimming
Celestial — winged and radiant, though the light doesn't always hold
Every race is server-authoritative, race selection and ability activation are validated server-side.
More bloodlines are planned beyond this list
Cosmetics
Customize your bloodline's look from an in-game menu — a live 3D preview, full color control (RGB sliders, hex input, or quick preset swatches) for tails, wings, horns, ears, and more, plus style choices wherever a race has more than one option (three horn styles for Draconic, 16 wing colors each for Draconic and Celestial, and more). Toggle off any screen-affecting racial passive individually — Night Vision, Slow Falling, or a race-specific mechanical passive like Draconic's Dragon's Touch — right from the same menu or its own keybind.
Orb of Bloodlines
A rare find in structure loot — ancient cities, strongholds, bastions, nether fortresses, end cities, woodland mansions, and buried treasure — that lets you reroll your bloodline. Use it and you're sent back to the selection screen to pick a new race.
Server config
Server hosts and ops can tune the mod in-game, no config file editing required: open Mods → Bloodlines → Config to adjust Faerie's flight hunger, exhaustion rate, speed, and armor-weight flight penalty; set a separate max armor tier for each flying race (Faerie, Celestial, Draconic); tune primary and secondary ability cooldowns and durations independently; adjust Wraith Form's own flying speed, hunger cost, hunger requirement, and re-entry cooldown; tune Shadow Goblin's Ambush window; and adjust how often the Orb of Bloodlines drops.
Requires: Forge 1.20.1 (47.4.10+)
Compatible with: Pehkui (entity scaling), Icarus + Caelus + Curios (Draconic/Celestial flight), Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks (optional — most abilities cast a real spell from it when installed, with a vanilla fallback otherwise)
