Bookshelf Inspector — Minecraft 1.20.1 Fabric Port

An unofficial Fabric backport that displays the name and item details of books stored in chiseled bookshelves. Lecterns are supported too.

Requirements

  • Minecraft 1.20.1
  • Fabric Loader and Fabric API
  • Mod Menu and Cloth Config are optional and provide the settings screen.

Multiplayer

The server must also have this mod installed for bookshelf and lectern inspection to work in multiplayer. Clients without the mod can still join, but will not have the inspection HUD.

Compatibility and testing

This is an unofficial 1.20.1 backport. The upstream project targets newer Minecraft versions and recommends Better Bookshelves for 1.20 and below. A dedicated-server and client world-load/save smoke test completed; direct in-game inspection of book and lectern contents has not yet been manually verified.
