Description

Introduction

The mod is abandoned, so the issues will be ignored. However, if you are interested in maintaining/porting it, you can do it by yourself.

Screenshot

Cacti, short for CAtegorical CreaTive Inventory, redesigns the creative inventory to enable more immediate access to mods' creative tabs. When many mods are installed that add custom creative tabs it becomes cumbersome to page between several tabs while using the creative menu, to resolve this Cacti groups every mods' tabs into their own category. These categories are displayed as tabs on the side of the menu.

This mod is ported from Cacti (Categorical Creative Inventory), which is probably discontinued since 2017, 1.10.2. It's ported from the 1.11 branch (not the 1.10.2 branch).

FAQ

Which Minecraft versions is it compatible with?

Answer: Probably 1.12, 1.12.1 and 1.12.2. However, this mod is only tested under 1.12.2.

1.13/1.14/1.15/1.16?

I'll not port to these versions due to major changes to Minecraft and Forge API until 1.14/1.15/1.16 becomes a "main version". However, you may do it yourself.

1.11?

No, it's an outdated version. If you really want to use it, download source code (of the original mod) from the 1.11 branch and build it yourself.

Also it's hard to maintain two versions at the same time, since the "material" tab is merged into "misc", and the "hotbar" tab is added in 1.12.

Compat issues?

This mod has compat issues with MrCrayfishs Furniture Mod because the dynamic creative tabs conflicts with the Furniture Mod's item filter. I'll report it to the Furniture Mod's issue tracker.

All vanilla creative tabs will make a copy of themselves under "Baubles" section if Baubles is installed. I currently don't know why.

Are there any incomplete fixes in the code?

Yes.

  1. Baubles mod will move all vanilla tabs into "Baubles" section, making the "Minecraft" section empty. So if a section is detected to be empty, it will fall back to vanilla tabs.

  2. Vanilla tabs are random-shuffled by default, so they're hardcoded now to keep the right order.
