Description
Chinchón
The classic Spanish card game Chinchón, right inside Minecraft. Place a Chinchón Table, right-click it, and sit down to play: with friends, against bots, or a mix of both.
Available for Minecraft 26.3 and Minecraft 1.21.1.
How to play
- Craft a Spanish Deck (3 paper + red dye + yellow dye, shapeless).
- Craft the Chinchón Table: red carpet · deck · red carpet spruce plank · spruce plank · spruce plank stick · · stick
- Place it and right-click: you sit in the first free seat.
- Pick how many points end you (50/75/100/150/200), then hit Start game. Empty seats are filled by bots (Old Joe, Big Rita, Miss Edna...).
- Up to 4 people at the same table, each playing for themselves (no teams).
- Anyone can take a bot's seat mid-game, and if someone stands up or disconnects, a bot takes over for them.
- When it's your turn and you don't have the table open, you'll get an action-bar notice.
- The deck can also draw a random card (right-click with it in hand).
- You don't have to drag cards around to find your own combinations: the table always shows you the best grouping it can find for your hand, and tells you the moment you're allowed to close. What you actually decide is where to draw from, which card to let go of, and when to close.
The rules
Chinchón for 2 to 4 players, Spanish 40-card deck, the common variant played across Spain:
- Each player gets 7 cards; the next card is turned face up to start the discard pile, and the rest is the stock.
- Your turn: draw one card (from the stock or the discard pile), then discard one — unless you close instead.
- Combinations: a group of 3-4 cards of the same rank, or a run of 3+ consecutive cards of the same suit (no 8 or 9 in this deck, so the 7 and the sota run straight into each other).
- Closing: after drawing, if your 8 cards can be grouped leaving at most one card unmatched, you may close the hand there instead of discarding. If every card combines, you get a -10 point bonus.
- Chinchón: a run of all 7 cards of the same suit (Ace to 7). Ends the whole match on the spot — whoever gets it wins outright.
- Reach the agreed point total and you're eliminated; last one standing wins.
Which version to pick
- 26.3: the current Minecraft release.
- 1.21.1: still the version with the most mods and servers out there — if your server or modlist is on that version, grab this jar instead.
Requires [Fabric API] (the version listed on each build's download page). Everything runs server-side: each client only sees what it's allowed to (its own cards, and everyone else's once a hand ends), so there's no cheating by sniffing packets.
